Dear Believers, prove your god or gods is/aren't just fiction(s).

Show us any reason to conclude your god exists anywhere but in your head.
You still can't do that, can you?
You’re right atheist.. I can’t
Never said I could, neither have I attempted to.
Thank you for your honesty. That is a refreshing change.

So we are in full agreement.
We both agree that god is inside your head.
We both agree that neither of us has any evidence to show he exists outside your head.

We have made some major progress here today people. Pats on the back all around.

Do you actually think repeating the same old song sheet is original?

You are incapable of discussing philosophy or religion, you just repeat "Give me objective evidence(as you don't attempt to philosophise the potential of subjective experience. It's just "god doesn't exist".

You are incapable of discussing philosophy or religion,
But we're not discussing philosophy or religion here. If we were, that would be a very different issue.

Instead, Trek has been insisting that God objectively exists - not just for those who believe he does - but for everyone in the world.

That is the opposite of a philosophical discussion. That's is an attempt to strong-arm subjective beliefs into objective fact. And it is that that is being challenged.

If y'all want to talk about your personal, subjective experiences of god, knock yourselves out.

It's just "god doesn't exist".
I have never said god doesn't exist. You would do well to get your facts straight.

This whole thread should be approached with inquiring minds not made up ones.

Are you an agnostic?

When we're talking about beings classed with fairies and elves it's hard to be "balanced". The idea of gods, angels, demons, and the ilk has a high giggle factor.

Agree completely

It is Trek's mind who is made up. Read every time he has asserted the knows reality. He is incapable of an mind open to any possibility but his own.

The whole point of being skeptical is that we are open to possibilities. I am open to God's existence, just show me some evidence.

I am open to God's existence, just show me some evidence.
No you’re not.
Ten evidence you seek is on your own concoction of what you set God to be.
It is completely circular.
That’s why I call you and other atheists liars

You can call me anything but "late for supper". That doesn't mean you're right. Holding belief in something that's impossible to prove, to the point (for some believers) of killing people who disagree is extremely problematical. But you won't review the situation rationally.

Exactly. If you come here with the attitude "I know God exists, I am right, if you disagree you're a moron" it won't go well for you.
If you come with that attitude you might learn. If you philosophise over a religious idea you might not agree with but it is worth exploring you have to assume a God(s) exists to learn anything sometimes. If you just leave one line offensive slaps and juvenile comments you will learn nothing.

Huh??

I agree.

Jesus said... those who kill with the sword die by the sword. The Christian kings/queens etc. throughout the middle ages practiced the opposite of what Jesus taught.

Any Christian killing non believers(where is this happening?) isn't practicing Christianity.

So who do you blame?

The beauty of real things is that they exist regardless of one's "attitude" toward them.

It's pretty hard to deny the Sun and the wind.

If we need a proper "attitude" to hear about God, that means we have to put aside our rational mind to make it ripe for indoctrination.

I don't think so. Not on sciforums!

In philosophy sometimes you need to assume unknown conditions to make progress in a fruitful dialog.
