The only semi-sound rationalization for supporting Trump I've ever heard in 10 years comes from a non-American, who can't vote anyway. Slavoj Zizek's semi-joking "support" for Trump was essentially accelerationist, even though he denies this: Trump will hasten the inevitable demise of this fascistic/capitalistic mongrel machine.

Whenever people try to come up with other rationales, these attributes inevitably play a part. Misinformation--yep, that's a combination of stupidity and ignorance, willful or not. "The economy"--again, the same. Alternately, as we've seen here on occasion, "the economy" is just coded language for racism and misogyny. A reaction to "wokeness"--well, that one's pretty obvious.

In other words, it comes down to some measure, and mixture, of bad and stupid, and we don't need apologists for white supremacists (we know who you are) introducing bullshit notions about people not being "inherently evil" and the like--no one, I repeat NO ONE, ever said they are. But they are ofttimes just plain fuckin bad, in every way that actually matters here. And/or stupid.
