Body Signals Redux: Proving Mormonism

My client does not have to explain.

You're missing the point. Nobody has to explain anything on here. But it would make these forums a dull place, if we all decided to wave that right.
It would simply be nice to hear your explanation of why the existence of Angels are impossible. It is quite a claim when you think of it.

I heard that people of various opinions are constantly updating wiki Mormonism articles.
I think you could be right.
However I don't think I had the basics wrong, do you think I have made any incorrect statement as to Joe Smith?
Billions of people believe that Jesus is the literal Son of God, including me. "Really who would believe that?"
Interesting.
Do you likewise accuse other churches?
Only the ones which con people.
Alex

Obviously not you.
Do you think that Angels could possibly exist? Or do you regard their existence as an impossibility?

jan.

Hi Jan.
What do you think I think?
If you have any evidence that may be relevant to any position you may wish to take please present it.
I will be reasonable and look at all and any evidence.
Alex

Jan it would be much simply for you to explain why angels are possible.
I think if I said unicorns are possible I could not ask you to establish they are impossible before I spoke about my unicorn.
For my part they are mythical and there is no need to discuss mythical beings unless of course someone offers evidence to establish their existence.

As you must be aware by now you are asking me to prove a negative.

You should also be aware this is impossible and so it is pointless exercise to really start.

Yet here I am trying to do just that.

I will concede that any angels who do exist are sipping tea from Russell's teapot before going for unicorn ridding lessons.

Humpty Dumpty is off with Poe to the Mad Hatters Tea Party with cucumber sandwiches.

:)

I agree.
Alex

As I noted elsewhere he sounds like not being 'more crazy' is something to be proud of.

Humpty Dumpty sometimes goes crazy.
Poe knows between him and Humpty Dumpty one is crazy. He is just not sure which one.

:)

It's not. It's the same as saying, "impossible things are impossible". All supernatural beings are by definition impossible by any natural law, which is why they are called supernatural. Can someone possibly make a thing that could fool you into thinking it's an angel? Probably. But it would still certainly be a product of natural forces.

Not exactly. Supernatural implies forces that may also have some type of sentience so therefore can operate on will, whim or bias. It also can imply forces or laws of nature not yet understood though if it were would no longer be supernatural as in unusual or mechanisms and causality no longer a mystery.

I certainly noted your earlier noted but I think this is worth repeatedly noting.
I think being crazy may be a prerequisite but I certainly would not say that in public.
I think believers do realise some of the things put up in their particular religion must seem strange to others but they think the strangeness does not have to hamper their faith that there is a God behind it all and they trust they are not wrong about that.
I can't approach things that way.
As I have said if someone lies once I won't trust them on any point.

Maybe all religions are founded on crazy so folk can understand faith.

Not so.

Under the Humpty Dumpty method I invoke the power of the Almighty Book of Words.

Any thy name shall be Merriam-Webster's Dictionary

And ya yee shall hold dominion over all the words both past, those currently in fashion and those in the future for now and forever until eternity.

It also can imply forces or laws of nature not yet understood

This section sounds like it comes straight out of a UFO magazine.

Enthusiastic believers in UFOs never seem to grasp the word UNEXPLAINED and designate such sightings to aliens from space.

Of course such a label falls short of any evidence.

Any evidence would render the unexplained explainable.

As you note understanding the supernatural renders it natural.

However as long as these supernatural forces remain supernatural they cannot have anything ascribed to them.

:)

religions are founded on crazy so folk can understand faith.

Unfortunately it makes them vulnerable to the con and the catch all 'god moves in mysterious ways'.

Humpty Dumpty should loose weight to move better.
Poe is said to move in mysterious ways. He's dancing. :)

How clever do you think I think I am?
Do you really care what I think about that? Would you trust my assessment if I gave it? Would you feel offended if, hypothetically, I were to tell you I didn't think you were particularly bright?
