Who else is? The greasy little chinese..?

well the greasy little americans are certainly powerful, thats true, with their dirty tactics of CIA and using terrorists as a precedent to infiltrate other countries and those countries resources.

No, I am talking about Russia. Its economic power is certainly lacking but its military power is as great of USA.

Americans are taller and less greasy than chinese, draqon. On the other hand, one day you may see a Chinese army a billion strong, wielding high-tech weapons that were paid for with Wal-Mart dollars.

As for Russia, that country is falling behind, not ahead.

LoL

They definitely got us beat when it comes to... ...say - leaving flags lying about on the ocean floor, for instance...

USA is not only superpower, superstring.

Yes. It is.

While there is no specific definition; by the accepted criteria, a superpower must have GLOBAL economic, social, military and political supremecy. There used to be two until the end of the Cold War. China and the EU may become the next superpowers within 25 years. But as it stands, sorry, the USA is the only superpower on earth.

Also, if you think fucking with my name is amusing, then we can go about it in a way that I find more amusing. How's that sound?

Are you that stupid, Draq? Is this always a pissing match between the USA and Russia. Here we go again. I'll reiterate: You are required to support your claims. If you don't then we'll go about this in a fashion where you are required to at the point of a spear? If you can't, for ten seconds, pretend to be a big boy, you can just go someplace else and play.

First off, the "dirty little tactics" by the USA are equalled by the same tactics used by the SVR, and you know it. The only reason this is a subject of discussion is because your limited IQ won't allow you to admit the obvious. I know, it's tough for your little ego to swallow, but states, especially the "big ones" do bad things. Russia included. Their behavior in poisoning a man with Polonium radiation, their superior treatment of Chechens to their wonderful curtailing of the press hardly make Russia a shining bastion of global good will.

As far as Russia's "military power" goes, well, you're full of shit again. All one has to do is look at the decrepid state of the Russian navy and see that Russia's ability to project itself globally is totally reduced. This doesn't mean that the Russian military isn't strong or capable. It just means that it is NOT a global super-power.

By one account, by total capital spent, Russia is FIFTH, behind the USA, China, France and the UK. By another account, it's 9th, behind nations like Turkey, Italy and Japan. Do the digging. And when you grow up a little and man-up your facts, then come back and post.

Russia's Navy was never strong, it makes up with air power quite well. Just because it spends less does not mean its not as productive. For example look on how much it costs to launch a space shuttle and how much it takes to launch a Russian rocket like Proton. The military of Russian federation employs a different tactic alltogether, create a missile that can reach across the globe anywhere it wishes, due away with the navy alltogether.

huh a little mistake in font text and you are all so agitated at me?

Accepted criteria of superpower? It only takes a world war to prove you are wrong moderator, but after the war it wouldnt matter because we would all be gone from the nukes.

You're being dense. I never said that Russian armed forces weren't effective or strong. That's not the debate. What is the debate is whether or not they are at a SUPERPOWER status. They are not.

And you are wrong, the Russian surface fleet was never "great" but its sub-fleet was certainly to be envied. They have let that slide.

See, this is where you show your immaturity. The status of "superpower" is achieved by holistic factors. Not by one. It's a combination of many things. While Russia continues to be one of two nuclear superpowers, it is not a global superpower just because it can blow up every city on earth. It is the combination of many factors that equates to superpowerdom.

But this is not America, this is the internet world. Are other part of the world less significant to discuss?

American politics (like destruction of people in Iraq, destabilization of Afghanistan regime, abuse and killing of innocent people in Guantanamo, CIA Polish secret concentration camps and etc.) affect almost everyone across the globe of our planet Earth.

The world is so much affected by USA ... so much evil comes out of it, that not discussing it, would be avoiding the truth alltogether. Look at how dollar currency keeps on dragging down all the economies of the world.

So, your tactic is to avoid a topic you started, then lied about in order to what? Continue harping on a nation you live in because. . . you're too scared to go back to a nation that would cause you to suffer.

And back to focusing on the thread discussion,

The main issue as to why World politics became USA politics on Sciforums is of course because majority of people are Americans, and we all know what kind of people Americans are.

Humm actually I don't plan to post today, I am in the middle of work, but I happen to visit sciforums today's post, and here I go, arrghh.. Just short comment:

Those are true world events & politics (which happen to involve USA). What I was wondering is that why is there so many threads about Obama, in day to day basis, as if there is no other topic in world or USA politic, its really lacking in proportion. I enjoy reading them, though!

Yes, well you moved the issue into a topic that you failed to prove, then you ran out of that discussion when you failed to support your claims. Sorry. I'm calling you out on that. You can back up your claims or leave the discussion. Your choice.

Actually, might as well that non-US Americans are not so interested in politics (of their own region).

He's the topic du jour. The POTUS will have a disproportianate number of topics about him. He's the de facto leader of the free world. He's the leader of the most powerful nation on earth. He's controversial at home (though, not so much abroad). He will, therefore, be a topic that's on the minds of many Americans.
