Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Collapse?

Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Collapse?
This paper is making some noise around the net, so I thought I'd bring it up and let the subject be tortured once again ;)
So first of all I should say I've always believed that the fires were insufficient to cause the collapse. Most of the fuel was vaporised on impact and if we accept that what fuel was left was enough to melt the structual supports then why did the top not topple off on both buildings and what are the odds of all the steel supports failing at the exact same time as implied in the pancake theory, astronomical IMO. This does not mean I believe any conspiracy theory on the matter only that a controlled demolition brought the buildings down. As to who, why and how this was achieved are questions I'd rather not speculate on as I really have no idea.
 
I had no idea the fires were supposed to have caused the collapse, i assumed it was from the impact of the incoming plane(s)? No, i dont reckon the fire would be sufficent to cause the collapse either, although it would be fairly hard to see why officals would 'cover it up', what would be the point?

Wait for it someone will post saying that it's a proven fact that fire weakened the floor supports causing the floors to pancake. If the impact was the sole cause then they would have collapsed immediately and no plane hit building 7. The War on Terror could be one reason for the cover up.

Oh Jesus fucking Christ, we all saw massive airplanes filled with jet fuel dissapear into buildings followed by an inferno so hot people jumped to their deaths to escape. I'm surprised the buildings lasted so long.

Jet fuel only explodes when vaporized, not in liquid form. The fire, stoked by all the flammable things inside a modern office building, weakened the steel structure until it collapsed. The top of the building wouldn't fly off because of gravity.

A building was just hit by airplanes. A tremendous fire rages in the building. The building collapses.

Where is the mystery in this?

Is the mystery why god didn't stop the collapse of the building? Is that it? Or is the mystery how many grey aliens got burned alive because the government covered up the existence of their burned remains.

The amazing thing to me with conspiracy theories is that they all require hundreds, if not thousands, of involved people to keep their mouths shut about the "secret". And if y'all watch the news at all, ya' know that there are more "leaks" of secrets than there are fuckin' secrets!!

How, oh, how, could anyone, any group, any government, expect to keep something like that a secret??

A much more interesting question is why wasn't the Bush administration more concerned about terrorism? This is suspicious, since key members already stated the need for a "new pearl harbor" to justify invading Iraq.

I don't think Bush does care about the lives of ordinary people, but there's just no way he was involved in a deliberate bombing of the WTC. There was no need to, all you have to do is ignore the known terrorists already present, something was bound to happen eventually.

FACT: Jet fuel burns at 800ºF to 1500ºF.
Steel doesn't melt until it reaches 2750ºF.
How do you explain that?

Because the building collapsed staight downwards. You say the TV footage, didn't you?

They didn't fail at the same time. One or a few floors collapsed at the level where the planes hit. The lower floors collapsed when they were hit by the upper floors coming down on top of them.

Why don't you do a little reading about the building structure and why the collapse actually occurred, before jumping to conclusions? There's plenty of information available. The WTC was constructed in a rather unusual way, so that the floors were fixed to and supported by the building outer layer and the central core. When one or a few floors collapsed, the floors below were hit, and they were never designed to take the amount of weight. At a certain point in the collapse, the sides of the building also buckled.

Ranting about conspiracies without the most basic information makes you look a bit silly.
