I came across this the other day. One of the few cd's i listen to all the way through. Tried embedding at 00:42:16 but there seems to be a bug in embedding to time code. I think it's a youtube bug.

...oh, yeah. This Is The Blues -

I'm listening to "Tell All The People" by a band called Jim Morrison and the Doors or at least they should be. This is classic Jim Morrison, although this was written by Robbie Kreiger - i think, who was an amazing song writer and guitar player. Morrison delivers this like probably no one else can. My own top three vocalists of all time and i can't be certain on numbers one and two. He really created a whole new way to hear expressive vocals. I dont buy into conspiracies so isay it was just some fluke...I mena, i dont think it was the "gov" that killed him..for this?...unless...perhaps, it was the British or some malicious foreign agents..but, you never know. After all, "he knew what he was doin"...think we'll forget that? Who "did" John Lennon? Think we dont know? It was YOU...nah, we aint never gonna forget.

I say no. No...no...no. it was no "hot shot" from some diabolical foreigners (agents)..."just one of those things..you know"
From what i read, Jim didnt agree with the line "get your guns" and wanted them out... (Jim was a pacifist) so I omitted them in this version. This tune got me from the first second. Musically it is just amazing. Robbie is understated but adds so much with great guitar playing and the horn section with the drummer and Ray is just classic...CLASSIC doors.

Tell all the people that you see
Follow me....
Follow me down

Tell all the people that you see

Set them free

Follow me down

You tell them they don't have to run
We're gonna pick up everyone
Come out and take me by my hand
Gonna bury all our troubles in the sand, hooo yeah

Can't you see the wonder at your feet?

Your life's complete

Follow me down

Can't you see me growing?
The time has come
To follow me down

Follow me across the sea
Where milky babies seem to be
Molded, flowing revelry
With the one that set them free

Tell all the people that you see

It's just me (just me)

Follow me down...

Gettin cards n letters from people i dont even know....WOW, Like A Rhinestone Cowboy, with a subway token and a dollar tucked inside my shoe so Ratso dont steal it he the guy from Midnight Cowboy. This song woulda made a good sitcom. Could have played this during the opening.

Glen Campbell - Rhinestone Cowboy

Lyrics:

I've been walkin' these streets so long
Singin' the same old song

I know every crack in these dirty sidewalks of Broadway

Where hustle's the name of the game
And nice guys get washed away like the snow and the rain
There's been a load of compromisin'
On the road to my horizon
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me

Like a rhinestone cowboy
Riding out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo
Like a rhinestone cowboy
Getting cards and letters from people I don't even know
And offers comin' over the phone

Well, I really don't mind the rain
And a smile can hide all the pain
But you're down when you're ridin' the train that's takin' the long way
And I dream of the things I'll do
With a subway token and a dollar tucked inside my shoe
There'll be a load of compromisin'
On the road to my horizon
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me

Like a rhinestone cowboy
Riding out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo
Rhinestone cowboy
Gettin' cards and letters from people I don't even know
And offers comin' over the phone

Like a rhinestone cowboy
Riding out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo

FADE
Like a rhinestone cowboy
Gettin' card and letters from people I don't even know
