What do you think has been the most important invention...

Computer, television and rado are pretty good at keeping me up to date what's happening around me and keeping me entertained. Books are good too. And so is telephone, even though I hate that thing, I must admit that I couldn't live without it. Well I could, but it would be alot harder to keep in contact with friends. So in conclusion I would say:
#1 Computer
#2 Phone
#3 Books
#4 Television
#5 Radio

y not just say electricity.... look , without antiseptics people would be dying too much and too young to maintain an idustrustrial society to invent all that crap. whats more important, ease of life or life itself? eh? yeaaahhhh baby =) =) =)

Humour. We invent new humour all the time, how many times a day do you say something funny? Without humour why would we even bother?

Too many, and if you look closely one idea usually leads to another. But If I may choose I would say the chair. Because you just have to sit down at some point! And it is in fact where many if not all ideas start from...or ends.

Fire. The ability for homo sapiens to learn how to create it on their own to keep warm through the ice ages and to cook food. Without learning how to create fire (warmth) none of us would be here today.

Probably, but alcohol is a close second. With it you seldom need fire. ;)

ever or just in your life, it can be anything: a bead bracelet, a car wheel, a cell phone, a microwave, a book, a car or a space shuttle, anything. In other words, talk about an invention that has meant something to you.

Wow! What I really find amazing/amusing here is the number of fairly mundane things that some people consider "important" .

Without going into the distinctions between an "invention" and a "discovery", I'd say it's pretty even tie between fire, the wheel and electricity. Without any one of those, we'd still be in the Dark Ages and would have absolutely NONE of the technology we have today or even have had for a very long time.

Well the discorvery of electricity wouldnt have made us stay in the dark ages. Seeing as it was discovered after the dark ages

You have no appreciation for irony, Ricky. :D Dark ages - as in having to use candles, lamps, etc. at night. And they don't really give that much light. (Sort of spoils it to have to explain it.) ;)
