The video camera.

This is off topic I suppose but I was just thinking the other day that very few inventions are "inventions". Just about everything we have invented occurs in nature in some way.

But nothing captures and keeps footage of reality, thats why I say video cameras.

Doesnt the camera emulate and supplement that mind's ability to capture and keep footage of reality? I realize that the mind doesnt' store footage like a video camera, but to us, its basically the same idea.

I've heard this before, and it never rings true to me. The first 'wheel' was probably just round stone of about the right size, and though of when they saw boulder/rock 'wheels' rolling down a cliff. The only real thing they thought of was to chop off the sides so you could make a disc out of the sphere.

What about the air conditioner? It has saved millions of lives from heat stroke.

This is very tough, there is so many great inventions. The transistor has to be considered as well. I like the microscope suggestion as well. Well, anyway, this is a very interesting topic to think about.

What about a computer?...Hate it if you will but it runs the world today which leads me to think was it our best invention or our worst. All of our economy is dependant on this sucker so it really runs us huh???? hehehe well we dug our grave

I also find a boat to be a great invention eventually leading up to a ship.
