US porn film makers suspend filming over HIV scare: report
Two US porn film companies have suspended production after an actor tested HIV positive, while doctors scramble to check if anyone else has been infected, the LA Times reported Wednesday. Vivid Entertainment and Wicked Pictures, both based outside Los Angeles, took the action as a precaution after the unidentified actor was confirmed as having the virus that causes AIDS.

"We did this as a precaution and will continue to monitor the situation," Vivid's founder Steven Hirsch was quoted as saying by the newspaper. He said he would "wait for all of the facts" before resuming production.

It was not known whether the infected actor was male or female.

A clinic specialized in caring for porn industry workers said it was working to screen other actors who may have been infected by the actor who tested HIV positive.

"We are quarantining and testing all exposed partners to the individual," said Jennifer Miller of the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation. "We're doing what we can to notify the individuals involved," she added.
There goes what is left of the American economy.

These tests are like putting a bandaid on a blood gusher. Unless someone is there to test right before the sex takes place then there is no way whatsoever to determine if the person you are having sex with is infected. Sure they may not have been infected last month but in the mean time they could have had 40 sex partenrs.

Lets face it...the majority of these people are on drugs. You think you can be sure what they were doing the night before?

Also.

Don't know if you've heard the rumor, but word 'round the scuddlebutt is that the US economy is still pretty big and productive. Farming exports. Raw materials. Software. Medical technology/supplies. Aerospace. Defense. Cultural/entertainment. Pick an industry a "down" American economy hardly equates "out".

So. Ahhh. Got any good pics? ;]

I actually forgot about that catalog so it is good you reminded me. I loved the catalog and the clothes were very nice. Definitely some of the images had men in their underwear and posing but i just saw them as models.;)

How long does it take to get results on an HIV test? Is there a test that gives immediate results? If so, these porno's ought to just test everyone the day of filming.

yes, and i've looked at porn too. that's how i know it's pathetic. :p

Nah,
It serves a purpose.

I think of porn as an instructional video for things your parents were not comfortable with teaching you, but you really should learn if you want to be a good lover.

Of course, there are those who keep going back to those instructional videos while most of us would prefer to perfect our skills with a live partner.

yeah sorry, but fucking isn't rocket science for crying out loud.

is being able to deep throat what sex is really all about? come on. because that is exactly what porn is all about. if there is any instructional value to it (which i disagree that there is), it is far out-weighed by the damage it does. it objectifies human beings, it objectifies sex, and that hurts people.

No, but there is a lot more to it then you would necessarily learn on your own (or as quickly).
For instance, growing up as a teenager, all the references to oral sex implied it was gross, but it was porn that showed that it wasn't. Or that foreplay could be quite varied and an important part of sex etc etc.

In my younger years I learned a lot about how to please a woman from porn.
It was admittedly mostly what you would call "soft porn", but instructional none the less.

As far as hurting people, I'm not sure I agree, a lot of people are REALLY into sex and it seems to serve a market that exists, not the other way round.
