Sorry if there are no ghosts in science land. I was actually friends with a ghosthunter and one time David Letterman guest Harvey Sheetz. Guess what, he was schizophrenic, he used to think the black helicopters flying overhead taking the president to Camp David were spying on him, as well as joggers passing by. I liked his art though.

The Cell Phone

"A couple of months ago, my friend’s cousin (a single mother) bought a new cell phone. After a long day of work, she came home, placed her phone on the counter, and went watch to TV; her son came to her and asked if he could play with her new phone. She told him not to call anyone or mess with text messages, and he agreed.

At around 11:20, she was drowsy, so she decided to tuck her son in and go to bed. She walked to his room and saw that he wasn’t there. She then ran over to her room to find him sleeping on her bed with the phone in his hand.

Relieved, she picked her phone back up from his hand to inspect it. Browsing through it, she noticed only minor changes such as a new background, banner, etc., but then she opened up her saved pictures. She began deleting the pictures he had taken, until only one new picture remained.

When she first saw it, she was in disbelief. It was her son sleeping on her bed, but the picture was taken by someone else above him... and it showed the left half of an elderly woman’s face."--

Anyway. Ghosts. Part of me, the open minded part...wonders about the validity of ghost stories. There is something about the ''paranormal'' that seems ...believable. There are a lot of famous tales that can't all be the rantings of mad men. But where the disbelief comes in is if ghosts exist, what causes them to exist? What are ghosts? Spirits caught between worlds? That doesn't make sense to me. It seems like no ''ghost hunter'' really has a viable explanation as to what ghosts are, but rather just have a lot of samplings/imagery, trying to convince people of their existence.

That's usually the way we discover things. At first we just encounter the phenomena itself. Dark matter..Dark energy.. Radioactivity..Earthquake lights. Then later over time we develop a theory about it thru testing it and interacting with it. The fact that we don't have a theory to explain it yet doesn't really negate the reality of the phenomenon itself, right?

These types of unexplainable stories but that point to things something being and cant just be dismissed are common. I believe them as many people have experienced some very compelling things. They are interesting too and make you question and wonder about a lot of things we consider to be reality.

Also, it truly makes me wonder about some people as they deny so adamantly the even possibility when so many people have experienced something just unexplainable or spooky and i mean spooky as in something is going on beyond the regular. They assume these people must be mental but thats not always the case because it is not an everyday occurence. One time when my son and i lived in this apartment, he came to me frightened when i put him in the bathtub and he came out running to me with a frightened look on his face and told me some man put his hands over his eyes behind him as if sitting behind him in the tub and whispered ' i like you'. I could tell just by the look on his face that it was real. He was startled, frightened and shocked dripping wet looking to me for explanation for the unexplainable and unseen. I knew in my gut etc. After we moved, it didnt occur again. Its one of those things i feel bad for people who have experienced things and people dont believe them. Those people need it to happen to them and see how sure they are being condescending as if they have the corner and know-all to reality and what can occur!!! They need some really fuking frightening shit to happen to them to the point they cant dismiss it easily or they will be lying to their goddamn selves!! Thats right!!!

And the thing is , is that , these so called scientists will rarely put themselves in a situation to " experience " this phenomenom ever .

It's actually extremely common for our human cognitive abilities to misfire and see patterns and especially faces where none exist. We can even look at clouds and see everyday objects.

It's much more common for human cognitive abilities to fire properly and see faces where they actually do exist. Nobody looks at a cloud and mistakes it for an everyday object.

But you know the same thing happens to objects that aren't in the sky. Our brains are primed to see faces, which means that we sometimes see them when they aren't there. Especially if you are psychologically primed to believe in ghosts.

When people see faces in the sky, they are making out shapes of something that is already there. Ghosts manifest on the other hand with distinct sensory stimuli---footsteps, doors slamming, lights, apparitions, voices in empty buildings, etc. They aren't patterns imposted on a preexisting substrate. There is no parodelia goin on here. Well sometimes. But mostly not.
