Seriously, I was wondering how uncomfortable it is for those with families that are theists, does it make them feel isolated not participating in events with them?

What events? Church outings? Midnight Mass?

Who cares?

Seriously though, there are many things to do around Christmas that have nothing to do with Christian fantasies and myths.

1. church attendance

My family celebrates the commercial xmas; therefore, N/A to church attendance.

2. participation in religion themed rituals with the family during the festive season

4. saying grace

The only one that I am aware of is saying grace. I'll hold people's hands why they say it and I wont participate in the verbiage.

3. political points of view regarding Christmas and Christian traditions

I like the idea of a season of giving and trying to be that person whom you want to be.

5. exchanging Christmas greetings and gifts

Sure, its fun.

I see xmas as a really good way to lighten up a very dark and potentially depressing time. It's the prime reason for it imo.

me grumpy no, just stating the facts as I see them.
Nope - i think I detected a raise on the grumpiness meter above and beyond you rusual level of grumpiness

I never read the easops fables in it's entirety either whats the relevence.
It was more about how she gave the appearance of being so grumpy that she couldn't even comprehend the fact that I am not a christian, and continued to use me as a martyr to project her anti christian sentiments despite me indicating to her several times that I am not even intimately familiar with christian scriptures

1. I don't go of course
2. Would I bring up my children to be supersititiuos?
3. Curches should remain seperate from the government. So I vote.
4. Again, superstition. A blessing to a god that does not exist?
5. The kids would be disappointed if we didn't

I think sam was indicating that family means mother father aunt, uncle, brother sister, and in-laws and all that - of course western family settings are lucky if they atomic, bit most other places in the world it is quite extended
