the mongols never returned, they were absorbed; cultures like India and Persia have too much history to allow themselves to be taken over and yet both have Islam

I not saying martyrdom is a Muslim creation, rather that martyrdom is far more common in Islam than any other religion today.

And their history is thereby - - changed - -. But not taken over, of course. Just some ways of life sort of disappear, as if they had gotten rid of themselves.

Is that what happened to them - they got rid of themselves?
 
The Zoroastrians had a little help getting rid of themselves, actually. But today the mainstream islamic political process mostly handles it.

Inasmuch as Indians became "Hindoos, Mussalmans and Christians", I guess. But I doubt that the average Persian is equal to the average Arab, or even the average Arabised Levantine
