The Syrian "Revolution": A Farce from Beginning to End

And the Syrian targets despite what you may hear cannot not be folded up and put into a hardened bunker or some cave somewhere. Syria can hide its men, but it cannot fold up airports and stick them in some cave. They cannot fold up their missile launch sites and stuff them into some cave either. Those military sites and bases are not going anywhere and will remain vulnerable to American attack. And there are only so many men you can stuff in a cave and keep indefinitely. Those underground men need food and water and other supplies.

A little told story in the Vietnam war is how most of the guerrillas hiding underground for long periods- frustrating as they were for American troops to deal with- ended up dying or debilitated from horrible diseases and malnutrition. Only the kind of life you'd want to live if you believed the alternative was certain death. As it's shown in Afghanistan and elsewhere, the US has plenty of tools in its bag to make sure that whatever goes into the caves never comes back out.

Al-Quida than amounts to no threat, from that perspective.

Than why is Pentagon investing billions in eradicating them?

That analogy would only be valid if the Taliban were occupying downtown Houston. Kind of a different matter when you're trying to weed thousands of them out from hundreds of millions who themselves aren't really so friendly towards the West in the first place. Anyhow, you'll be humiliated enough if the US does indeed strike, no need to go over the details in advance before anything actually happens.

Don't worry, Iran's flying boats will take them all out.

Don't worry, Iran's flying boats will take them all out.

don't be silly, SA-22 and SA-17 will take em out.

but, who is on those 5 warships US sending? Majors like Nidal Malik Hasan in charge of Lewis McChords?

So is that who you explain all of the many things you have been wrong about?

I think you mean "how". If only there were such things, or you knew things to contradict them. How about stop making up grade school schoolyard excuses to explain your many errors of fact and reason? How about for once getting your facts straight? How about for once constructing and argument is not a dump of fallacious argument and contains a few facts? Impress me, get your facts straight just once and construct a logical argument just once.

I think I already asked you in another thread to start constructing such things yourself. I can see that's not going to happen. In your defense, I guess it's probably hard to look things up with one hand desperately seeking Obama's wood all the time. To wit:

This is a good development. Obama taking some time is really a smart move.

Yes, taking time off in the middle of an acute crisis is certainly a good play.

I know I've already replied to your quote, but I wanted to focus on this particular sentence. How often does a foreign-backed strongman's repression lead to an actual decline in the hostility and resentments of the repressed population? What happens to a boiling pot when you leave the lid on? As just one simple example, think back to the joint British-American overthrow of Iran's democratically elected Prime Minister Mossadegh in 1953, for nothing more than cheap oil and keeping Iran from getting too friendly with the USSR. If they hadn't overthrown Mossadegh and reinstalled the Shah in his place, and hadn't supported the Ayatollah over the communists when the Shah was ultimately overthrown, imagine how much better Iranian-Western relations would have looked today.

I know you are right and the people of these states are the ones suffering from our interference in their politics. Oppression is never the answer and so do we just sit back and watch as civil war erupts in Syria and accept that it may well end up being an Islamist state? As things look now the choices are Assad or an Islamist state and either will be decided by a civil war. There is only one certainty in my mind and that is Assad must go. What Syria becomes after Assad may well look like Iran.

That's right. In 30 years the US still has yet to figure out effective defense tactics and technologies to counter Soviet-era sea missiles, and the commanders onboard US warships are all militant Islamic psychopaths. This should be an easy rout, I don't know why those ships ever bothered setting sail in the first place.

Well, even if Syria's air and naval forces aren't truly up to par, America does have plenty of women and children, and Assad's supporters are incredibly good at dealing with those.

So this is how you explain you many errors of fact and reason? Again, I challenge you to make a fact based truthful rational argument.

If the US was in crisis you might have a point. But the US is not in crisis. The US doesn't have 5 naval destroyers off its coast threating to rain havoc down on it...Syria does. If President Obama was in Assad's shoes you would have a point. But he isn't. Syria is in crisis. The United States is not. So your premise is as usual, wrong...one of them minor details again. :)

And US supporters are incredibly good at using chemical weapons against Syrian people and blaming it on the government, to be used a pawn for intervention into Syria.

someone playing golf = petty politics Who the fuck cares?? Should he sit and wring his fucking hands until we strike Syria? C'mon, petty shit!

Obama should ''fucking care.'' Petty politics, unless it's a repub playing golf. lol

Obama should ''fucking care.''

About what? He is a pawn in Pentagon's hands, the guy does what others tell him to do. He might as well just read a newspaper and poop and eat all day long.

30 year old what? It's like calling Ford cars 100 year old because Ford's Model-A car was made in 1903, obviously Ford car now has been modified to an extreme from what it used to be.

No, it isn't. It is still a 30+ year old Soviet surface to air missile defense system. That missile system really worked out well for Iraq when the US attacked and invaded Iraq not once but twice, didn’t it? How long did it take US forces to destroy Iraqi forces not once but twice? And you think it is going to work better for Syria?

Obama should ''fucking care.''

I would that all Presidents find a way to relieve stress and if golf is it then so be it. You chastised Joepistole for bringing in Party politics and you brought in Petty politics! Sad really sad!
