LOL, no!in the second pic, are those wild onions?
...the equisetums are categorized as fern allies in large part because they, like the ferns, are non-flowering, seedless plants which reproduce by spores.

....For a lot of women who approach that age, the mentality which is: I'm old, unmarketable, and therefore, Screw it prevails. ...
Why do you think some of those women get hostile to other women who keep fit and young? Jealousy? Resentment at getting older?

Well...dangit. I was supposed to take Mom to the Arboretum (Dallas' botanical garden) today to see the tulips in bloom. I was hoping to take some great shots...However it's cold and rainy...maybe next weekend.
Are you talking about Shorty? Nah, I don't think she's jealous.
I think the more you smile the younger you come across.
I like your attitude, Lori. You do look pretty good for a 40 year old. For a lot of women who approach that age, the mentality which is: I'm old, unmarketable, and therefore, Screw it prevails. I don't care much for the picture of you flipping me off. It says "I don't care what you think!" when you obviously do. But I don't think that "Screw it" attitude is necessary. Women can still gain a lot by staying fit and attractive. Old does not equal unattractive at all. It does make you less attractive than you were at an earlier age, provided you took decent care of yourself when you were younger. But man, when I work out at gyms and I see all kinds of 30 and 40 year old women lifting weights and doing aerobics, some of them are damn hot and in better shape than many girls my own age (23). I bet if you lifted weights you could look even better.
A few photos my friend Dāvis did this week while hiking in Latvia:
