The Picture Thread Mark III

I don't take "it", I just copy information without worsening the original and without depriving the first party of the original.
And as a law student I know the definition of theft good enough.
By "copying the original and leaving the original intact", you are still depriving the artist of the income justified by his effort.
Lawyers have no idea of the spirit in which laws were intended (or ignore it)... as you've so admirably demonstrated.
Judging by that wormy justification, I'd say you're going to be a damn good lawyer.

p.s. This discussion has no place in Picture Thread
You're quite correct. You, however, made the first comment "in the picture thread" which led to this to begin with. Don't throw ridiculous statments out in the air if you don't expect to be called on them.
I'm a thief too, on occasion - but at least I have the cojones to admit it rather than using every smarmy justification in the book in order to feel better about it.

Back to your pictures, now.

Harlequin,

How do you measure the worth of a song?

If you copy something with no monetary value, how is that considered stealing? Artists get hardly anything from CD sales. They make their money exclusively from merchandise and concerts. And THOSE us 'thiefs' will pay for to support the bands.

By how much it costs to manufacture and distribute the product. Basic economics man...

Recording music is fairly cheap these days. And I could do without manufactured hits, payed for by the record companies, paid for by consumers.

Xerxes:
Avatar correctly pointed out that this is the picture thread, after all. I'm more than willing to continue, if you're interested then open a new thread or revive an older one.

If there is an unlimited supply (filesharing) and a finite demand, the price approaches zero.

Record companies will need to find new ways to make money.

Gustav,

I wanted to catch you in your game, and call you on it. But I give up now, you win.

When you suddenly turn up like some of indentikit of an ideal
I see it with humility, as the Gods at work, or a guardian angel or a karmic payback,
an opportunity not to be abused or sniffed at,
and yet so selfish that the only way I have to justify it is to urge you to be as ruthless in return as need be.

/.../

You change.
You reflect.
You respond.
You pursue.
You argue intelligently.
You discern.
You discriminate.
You forgive.
You want to improve, continually.

For me, stuck in a stagnant mire, that was like manna from Heaven.

I wish you were here to see me weep with joy to think myself so lucky.
It is so so long since I felt like that.

Oh dear, Nejka,
what an embarassment you are to me.

Do you not think that possibily,
in order to attract the favour of a gentleman it might be a good idea to learn to talk like a lady?

Rather that is than the part of the sorry,
two faced,
impossibly untouchable,
deteriorating, mentally ailed,
plain and boring,
often anxious,
unloved, rejected too many times,
never to hope to ever be loved by a man,
lost and lonely,
needlessly resentful,
poor little abandoned dog of a hypocrite.

Somewhat reluctantly I do believe that I have finally got the message:
Fucking anything has got to be a better prospect than fucking you.

Yes, exactly,
in terms of samsara.

Neither love nor nor life nor survival,
and a fair description,
if I may say so,
of the result of sciforums doing more for character than anything else.

But that is not what your other self tells them at E-Sangha, is it?

perplexed - Someone who speaks the way you do should not talk about samsara, until they've calmed down a bit.

Also, pictures of me with my latest haircut (that water didn't like)-

I've actually started just wearing it back and not dealing with it at all anymore - who cares? Nobody.

Except for your imagining of me,
what do you know?

Apart from unwelcome disturbance beyond,
I am calm.
Calm and clear,
with a life and love, survived.

Rather than give yourself away with that sort of projection,
why not speak for yourself?

You seemed so calm with what you said to water, no emotional involvement at all.
Never mind, I take it back, you were being sweet.
Don't assume that that statement comes from projection, I wasn't overly concerned as water already dealt with you herself. I just thought it a bit strange to be so mean and then start talking all enlightened-like, in the next post, y'all.
