Why don't we commit suicide ? Let's have an in-depth meaningful discussion about this most complex of problems. Why, indeed, do we exist ? Is our existence contingent upon things unknown, the hidden, the transcendental ? Quoi faire ? Life is meaningful. it has to be because that is how I want it and life will act on my terms or not at all. I am significant . I have never read a self-help book that hasn't told me so; I always check the blurb for this key statement before buying the book.

How facile an answer to say we do not kill ourselves because we are programmed survival machines, so that we only kill ourselves if the electrochemical activity in our brains malfunctions ina particular way. To hell with Ockham; I'll find a more meaningful answer if I kill myself in the process
