I always had the impression that it's easier to see what others do wrong. It's harder to see what I am doing wrong because I don't have a mirror constantly in front of me. Uh-huh.
 
You mean you've never heard of the expression? I'm not saying that the experience is good, what I'm saying is that in life, it's the biggest challenges that tend to present the biggest opportunities for growth.

It's one thing to overcome challenges, quite another to place them in someone's way in some misguided attempt to encourage them to "grow" as a person.

i often use that as a metaphor for a relationship with god. it's like someone follows you around with a mirror, holding it up, asking you probing yet inherently rhetorical questions. doesn't that sound like fun?
