to cut the long story short. At the bus stop old lady was going to fall over I griped her and we had a conversation about life and she was like: "I can't stand all this fighting and everyone is too wrapped up in material things, no one cares to think how other people may feel we're all like robots" and the funny thing if I had never talked to her I would have probably thought she is racist and doesn't like me I bet she thinks stupid Muslim boy probably wants to blow the bus up. Am usually paranoid like that, when am around white people i don't know.

The moral of the story is its you should not hold prejudists (I cant spell the word am sure you all know which word am on about).

I also have a beautiful story that i found from a website. Check out this story, it's called A Glass of Milk.

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house.
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so she brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?" "You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Faisal Ahmed left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Years later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Faisal Ahmed was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Ahmed requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room.

She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill.

She read these words..... "Paid in full with one glass of milk"

Signed, Dr. Faisal Ahmed

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed:

"Thank You, God, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands."

The website no long exists, but you can find this article by searching for this url http://www.geocities.com/mutmainaa/story/glass_milk.html. Then click on Google's cache. The main page is on this url, http://www.geocities.com/mutmainaa/story/story_index.html, again use the same method to read the other articles. Hope you enjoyed.

Peace.

lovely story, but why did god get all the credit, surely it was through kindness that kindness was returned, what did that have to do with a god.
the two people involved should be proud of themselves, nothing about god was mentioned til the very last line, why should it get the credit.?
I feel sad for the religious mind set it's so f**ked up.

Obviously only religious people can be kind?

Truly touching stories, almost a tear jerker! :( But many stories like those exist, some with not so great endings either.

I've been lucky, some say I've been blessed, my whole family is Christian (catholics) I'm the only atheist left. My dad died 16 years ago. When I was born 1962, mom had an accident, she fell, I was born 3 months premature. Many doctors told mom, forget it, he'll die within the first year, yet here I am, many of those same doctors are now dead! A young doctor aquiaintance of my mom took care of me. He pumped me up full of vitimins and rigorous diet, I'm now 44 years old. Was it god? Some will say yes, some will say fate had it that I will live, some have even called me special. I've been an atheist for 23 years. Yea! I'm special. I realized that I'm here by luck. I was lucky that mom knew of a young doctor starting his career, I was lucky to have survived afte her accident, I was lucky of having an atheist for a father, who knew how to raise a good son. Today mom is the lucky one, I take care of her, I've moved her with me, I live in Las Vegas Nevada for her retirement, making sure that she takes her med's, checking up on doctor visits, she's lucky to have me. 5 years ago she had a four way bypass, she survived, I was lucky that I didn't kill myself when I drove 600 miles to be there when she woke, I brought life to her eyes when she saw me, brought her to Houston with me, and now that she retired, moved her here to Vegas, she loves the casinos, the 24-7 life style here, we go out to shows, and the desert climate helps her health as well. Though she still believes in her god, and I'm very much an atheist, we understand eachother, and I provide all that I can for her. We both are lucky to have eachother.

Muslim,

Ah, OK. Little Britain. Yeah, I understand you would feel a little insecure, but perhaps "Do as they wilt, and ye harm none, shall be the whole of the law" could bare some thought. Most folk could generally be a bit more sensitive about each others unique life experience and culture. Personally I follow my own agenda of goodwill, I refuse to let any set of religious or political paradigms sway my thinking. I never attended those meetings where the rules were made.

Thats a fine sentiment Godless. I wish I could be that nice. Your Mama aint counting cards at the Blackjack tables is she?

An atheist save my life when i was young. I should be dead by now if i fall in that waterfall with my bike. Fortunally he saved me by grabbing my hand so i didn't fall in that waterfall, instead, i lost my bike but at least im still alive thanks to the atheist guy.

It was god's fault for pushing me with his wind.

Na! she's 73 and mostly just like the slots. ;) she gets lucky sometimes and hits a good return.

Godless, thats deep. Is that really a true story. Your mom is lucky to have a son like you. Keep taking care of your mom. This shows that all human beings can be good regardless of rleigion or lack of religion. If only more humans were that kind to their family.

Awww, lovely story. Fact is though, prejudices are gonna be held no matter how many people you tell a sappy story to. Prejudices are natural. They teach you to stay with your own kind. It doesn't mean you hate. Just like black people think if you don't wanna be their "homie", you're racist. BS. Just because someone doesn't usually talk to you doesn't mean they think you're gonna blow the place up. You must be racist yourself for presuming personalities based on looks. Prejudices are only prejudices if they're spoke of. I hope you learned a good lesson since you assumed she was evil by thinking she was racist before you talked to her.

Yes! it's a true story. I often have posted concerns, and parts of my life here on Sci... We are "the ones who have been here for years" kind of like a close family as well. ;) and often give bits & pices of our personal lives.

Ah, OK. Little Britain.

He didn't say 'Britain'. While I will admit we have many of those sand dwelling mother fuckers here, to my knowledge we have not changed the name of our country.

I guess he either lives in a similarly named country or he's just piss poor at spelling. The latter would seem closer to the truth. More time spent running round shouting silly shit instead of actually sitting down and getting an education.

Muslim, its easy to end the prejudism you feel when around civilized people. My suggestion would be for you to initiate a movement to have it end. If you do not wish for people to think of you as a Jew hater, an enemy of Christianity, a cartoon critic, or suicidal, murderous scum then it is incumbent on you to visit Muslimland and tell them to stop misbehaving because all it does it create this prejudism you despise so dearly. Tell them that the rest of the world has developed prejudicial feelings towards Muslims. I can't think of a single reason why you wouldn't want to do this, can you? Can't be too difficult. Go ahead, take the first step.
