Should Christianity adopt Islam’s laws of sins of the flesh?

Yes, you are religious and a Christian, just a non-denominational one (if you will excuse me telling you what you are).

Jesus started a religion. If he didn't know that, he wasn't anything special.

if he did know that he wasn't anything special either. people are going to do what they're going to do. jesus knew that. what makes him special is he did what he did anyway.

god communicates with me. you know this.

How do you know it's not the devil? Or a God™ that only pretends to be good but is actually evil. He will send good people to hell and sinners to heaven.

I've learned to trust god the same way people learn to trust anyone. People like you. Are you this paranoid regarding everyone or just god?

Just toss the whole pile of garbage. We have plenty of laws already. All we need is better birth control.

I see.

So the last thing we ever want to do is control our passions.

Hell no. We should not work at disciplining and controlling ourselves. Sigh.

Men think with their dicks and we do not want to change that wonderful quality.

Sex is sinful and dirty and we should live our lives in shame of our sexuality. That's what makes mentally healthy individuals.

GIA,

why are you so focused on religion when it is obviously not the answer to humanity's problems?

Obviously? Hardly.

The majority of people are religionists so if you are saying that the minority will solve our problems, that is counter intuitive and illogical.

i'm not religious. religion is not going to fix us. it hasn't yet has it?

wouldn't it be great if we could all just be free? and we weren't constantly trying to tell each other what to do? when was the last time you heard a religious person say that?

Man is a rule follower. You can either go with secular rules or religious rules.
Your choice but both sets of rules are telling us what to do. We are all black. Do you want to be a kettle or a pot. You have no other choice.

The only thing man is ever free to do is follow the rules.

The prize is already shown.

A reduction is the hundreds of thousands of abortions we do yearly and a better control of our reproductive attitudes and sexual habits.

You could actually be quoting one of the founding fathers of the early Church.
You would have to add in that all of nature has been cursed because of A & E so called sin to make it look more ancient and authentic.

What a stupid attitude to start off a religion with. False guilt.

This Bishop speaks to that idiotic notion.

I'm talking about being inherently and instinctually correct. The only purpose rules serve is to protect against wrongdoing. I want to eliminate the inclination for wrongdoing, not create new rules to deal with the same old problems.

Imo religion and govt are like pills that suppress or treat the symptoms of our illness. I want the cure.
