"Yamato Squadron, engage enemy fighters at visual range, I want to test the enemy pilots, don't shoot them down too quickly," the Commandant ordered.
Shogun smiled and then replied,

"We will engage the enemy fighters, do not shoot them down with missiles, unless an order is given to do so or it is absolutely necessary, the commandant want to test the hostile pilots,"

We were approaching the carrier group, it was the American aircraft carrier group, three carriers along with a dozen escorting cruisers and destroyers, along with the usual submarine. We knew that the Japanese and Americans were launching joint air strikes against Korea and we knew at least 60% of the planes were American.

The North Koreans fired their missiles. Yamato Squadron split up quickly, and executed extreme evasive maneuvers at exactly the right time, shaking the missiles off their tails. Yamato Squadron then closed in with rolling scissors, and executed the Thach Weave, firing their cannons. 6 hostile fighters then went after each pair. Shogun executed a high yo-yo, while his wingman Yamato 2 executed a lag displacement roll. They got on the tails of the opponent fighters, missing purposely to test their skill, then they executed flat scissors maneuver and trade targets, killing the opponents.

"Sir," the major said nervously "the Dimitriy replied to that message, they stated that when the Chinese nuke had been set off they had been sitting on the sea bed almost 1300 feet under water. They reported that all 26 nuclear missiles aboard were fully functional and ready to be launched on any notice"-The major said
"That can't be right. A typhoon only has 20 nukes first off, and secondly every other ballistic missile submarine also had it's nukes fried, every nuke in the world is dead major."-The commandant said with less than total confidence.
"I can't explain it sir, but this is legitimate because it went straight to Gorchav, sir, every nuke in the world is dead except for 26, and those 26 are on the world's fastest, quietest, and most lethal submarine, sir, this is a crisis, Russia has 26 nukes ready to launch that nobody else does, I think sir we need to call back our fighters."-the major said

Sir, this boat is carrying 26 G-d damn Bulava (OOC: a real missile btw) missiles."

Out of Game: I am using the crossing motion to move into position and to confuse the enemy.....
Out of Game: Just remember another thing that the Japanese Commanders care about etiquette, and such, they aren't like the American commanders.
Out of Game: It is an air duel, it is a salute. Just like a bow before a martial arts match. It was also used to confuse the enemy a bit and switch positions.

It is not a fight to kill at least not as fast, it was to test the quality of the enemy pilots, if it was then I would have fired long range missiles and used missiles instead of cannons.
