OOC: What degree if I may ask?

Aaron cursed under his breath as the discharge arced across his shields before grounding out. He looked at the tricorder, now a simple paperweight, before sighing.
"You damned fool... what is it you're trying to do here? If you want a firefight you better believe you picked the wrong person to mess with... I could have my ship blast your entire base from orbit if I was here to destroy you, did you think of THAT?" he growled, becoming obviously irate. "We came here because of the amount of debris in orbit, looking to provide aid to those who needed it... where we are we aren't even sure at this point; it obviously isn't our earth. None the less, here we are... now are you going to help us get our man back or..."
He stopped as the base defenses went off.
"Damnit... tell your men to stand down! NOBODY HAS TO DIE." he grabbed the soldier and hoisted him to his feet. Otherwise, stay out of our way! I have no intention of taking you as my prisoner" he released the cuffs on the solider "so go out there and tell them to stand down!"
With that he shoved the soldier out into the clearing and backed under the stealth field. Climbing up onto the ARGO, he manned the phaser cannon with baited breath.
"Ryan, bring the ARGO into the Archangel. Everyone, onboard. With any luck they'll listen to reason... otherwise they may just shell the place. The Archangel's shields will give us a chance to bug out if we need to."
And with that they piled in and sealed up. The Archangel's shields came online as her primary systems powered up, including their deflectors.
"Lets just pray they do... I don't want any bloodshed on my hands today..." Aaron muttered.

Fedr - I just Pm'ed you something
What kind of fight exactly?
Well, a chance to see what each side did, how the tech worked - I'm assuming your working off of Crysis 2 tech as a basis? I'm trying to gear my guys to be better in some ways, weaker in others. Generally, the gear I have is more specialized than the Nanosuits, some with better stealth capability but less armor and combat focus, and others (like what my MACO's are in) is very heavily armed and armored, but about as stealthy as a heatstroked elephant rampaging through a china shop.
OOC - *nods* Understood
Aaron blinked in surprise, then smiled slightly, jumping down from the ARGO.
"Brigadier General Zero, I am Captain Aaron Ayante of the Federation Starship Noble. I do apologize for our sudden appearance here - it would seem that this is not the... Earth... we're looking for."
he gave a slight wince at the way that sounded, knowing it was probably outlandish
"By the way - phase tech... I was not expecting that..." I said, trying to think of how to explain their current situation. "You see, where we're from it is the year 2521, and the Federation and her allies have been assailed by a threat known as the Borg... we were returning home after exploring a spatial anomaly we thought was a new type of wormhole and... well, it seems as though whatever it was, it sent us here."
He turned to the MACO's and nodded - they lowered their weapons.
"Might I ask what all that debris in orbit was about?"
OOC - yeah, my combat suits are more durable and have more firepower than yours, but are very easy to detect and have reduced mobility over a normal person. The recon suits are less durable than the mk 1 nano suit but has far better stealth and sensor ability, plus the shields add some protection but they can only take so much damage before needing to recharge.
Overall, the MACO armor should be roughly on par with what you have on, but you have a massive advantage in mobility and stealth to counter their advantage in durability and firepower
IC:
"We didn't come out of the anomaly near here - we actually were near the Deneb system at the time, responding to reports of the anomaly. When we exited, we had lost contact with Starfleet Command, so we came back to Earth to investigate and, well... here we are."
he sighed
"It's a lot to take in at once, I know... but perhaps we could save the backstory for later? It seems you guys could use some help... liberation of mankind from what, exactly?"
