Sciforums Fleet

"Flashbang now!"

He ordered, as he activated his flashbang protector, in other words he can only see the silhouettes and hear internal comms until he deactivates it. A private lobbed the flashbang, it was too crowded to use a frag, collateral friendly fire will be unavoidable. The flashbang exploded right in front of their face. The private timed it right as it seems. He then clicked his teeth twice to quickly deactivated the flashbang protector.

His platoon is the vanguard. He wasn't unproductive during the fraction of a second of the flashbang, he took out his SMG, his assault rifle won't do much good here. As soon as he deactivated the flashbang, he got his sights on an enemy then double-tapped that bastard's head open, it was messy, but the job isn't for the squeamish.

I heard explosions, although at this point I heard a lot of things, prison does wonders for your sanity.

The main force came in after them, they switched to their SMGs, better for an enclosed place like the prison, while the rearguard stayed outside with their assault rifles, made sure nobody got in or out. It was over in less than a minute, the entire engagement, with all the corridors cleared in this prison. A squad was assigned to check the database to look for Kato. The engagement seemed like hours, there were a few wounded and two KIA, the prison had well-armed and decent personnel, but not good enough, not for platoon 6 of Kilo Team.

"Section 3, Cell 5554, we will upload the map to the HUDs," a voice came over the comms.

"Kilo Team, lets move! We will secure the cell, Lima Team and Victor Team will cover the corridor,"

"Yes sir!" He responded, running down the corridor, even though they have secured the corridor, he still had his gun ready to fire.

you know what, do you guys wanna get back to the war with the holians? Because reading back on our posts from pages 90 and on it seemed a lot more exciting. It seems that the whole ship getting lost idea is meh.

I am the only one left to respond for now.....how about this, we do both....for now.

I was gazing over the Shanghai skyline

I dont really know why considering the last time I had been here I had been tortured, drugged, shot, and rescued. You might wonder why I put something good like 'rescued' on that list, but when its shogun and Omega its like riding a roller coaster without any restraints, just hang on and hope you dont die.

"I wonder whatever happened to Aria" I thought to myself.

OOC: Shogun, is your charecter on earth?

Hey shogun, what do you think about this. The holians have not even come close to recovering from their defeat on earth so there is a massive gap in what was once their border defense force. But were still so shaken by the invasion we don't have the manpower to attack. But rather you, omega (assuming he gets back sometime soon), and I take a stealth ship and conduct some sabotage and raids with the idea that both factions are racing to get their forces to full status before the other one can. And that were supposed to slow them down because we are starting to lose that race.

That sounds like fun, and it leaves a lot of options for fun stuff to do on enemy worlds.

I slid down the roof, grabbed the edge with my hands and vaulted over and landed on the ground. One of the perks about being a war hero I recently noticed is that I can wear my nano suit whenever I like no questions asked. Although it makes sense, its one thing for a chickenshit MP to even try and criticize a colonel while he is a mere sergeant, but to try and pull the temporary commander of I corps, and the commander for the previous Terran theatre (when the holians had invaded earth) was almost suicidal for one's career. Sure the sergeant wasn't doing anything wrong, but his reputation for a chickenshit son of a bitch would follow him until the day he retired.

I landed on the ground bending my knees and then stood back up.

I was about to go back to my bike when I got a radio message.

"Colonel Zero, we have a new plan and we need you at HQ."- HQ

'Colonel zero' I thought to myself, that has an odd ring to it.

______________________________

I entered the building and walked to the security area.

A sergeant stepped in my way and wanted to shake my hand, said something about how its an honor to meet me.

I asked him where I was supposed to go and he pointed me in the direction.

After going up the elevator to the top I entered a large room. There were several generals and staff. Notably the Terran Alliance supreme commander was there.

I sat down and everyone became somewhat silent, most of them stared at me for a few seconds before they managed to figure out I knew what they were doing. Yet the supreme commander was one of the few whom seemed unimpressed, and for that he deserves at least some of my respect.

It was rather unnerving, this was a meeting of the highest generals and admirals in the military, heck, the lowest ranking person there other then me was a major general. Talk about a fish out of water.

So the meeting started with the supreme commander giving his speech

"As you all well know the holian 5th, 12th, and 16th fleets as well as the 2nd, 8th, 19th, 15th, and 56th planetary assault forces have been devestated by the Terran campaign."

I felt a bit of pride at that, I may not have been the highest ranking commander in the campaign but by far it was my corps that did most of the damage. In a week we managed to plow through three enemy divisions through India.

The supreme commander continued:

"So how do we exploit this?"

Some general said "We should press the attack."

some other admiral said "with what exactly? Earth is in shambles and I can garuntee you that my armada won't be ready for at least three months after the ass kicking we received during the evacuation of earth."

It basically boiled down to some general and admiral suggesting that we take a certain armada or assault force and attack some planet, and then another admiral or general shooting it down because they don't have the manpower.

I pretty much reclined through this circular loop of poorly thought out ideas. The only person whom looked more annoyed then me was the supreme commander and the guy next to him which I think is his aid.

After a while he spoke up and everyone fell silent. "Zero, what do you think?"

I was caught totally by surprise, and everyone looked stared at me like before, except this time the supreme commander was doing it too.

"well..." I began. "The fact is we don't have enough manpower to assault a holian world, and if by some miracle the holians manage to put together a force to arrive to aid the planet then we would be out of luck. We could not reinforce such a force for at least a month if we are lucky."

Thus far nobody disagreed so I just ran with what I had.

"We are in a race to see who can rebuild and rearm their forces before the other can."

Which pretty much everyone nodded approvingly of.

"We can't take the chance of fighting them in a fair fight. What we need to do is to do as much damage as possible with as little manpower as possible. We need to use stealth transports to send three to five man teams to as many of the holian planets as possible." I said

I pulled up a map of holian space and the known planets in it on the holoprojector.

"What will happen is the first team will attack their capitol. They will cripple communications systems throughout it. After that the other teams will land on their respective planets and start a campaign of sabotage. We will try and keep communications on the capitol as crippled as possible in order to fuel chaos to the situation." I said

"Give me a week or two and I can have the first team on the capitol by the end of the month" I said as I sat down

There was quite a silence and the supreme commander stood up, and thus everyone else including myself also stood up. And he said "do it" and then left the room with his aid following.

What a day

Now I need to get in contact with shogun and omega.

I'm looking to join up if at all possible - let me know and I'll post my ship design and character info :)

This was from page 104 which you can just skim over,

OOC: Okay, here is what happened:

The holians were sending a fleet to earth (black hole empire but we simplified it to "holian") there was no way we could win. So we evacuated everyone to a planet called delta that was surrounded on three sides by dead novas that would shield it from any sensors. But we left behind Guerrillas, we took the best soldiers, trained them to act as Guerrillas and created 7 bases (originally 4 for the cardinal points but than I changed it for every continent). Each base is made up of a division consisting of 5 regiments, (I am planning on having Shogun, Omega, and you each control a regiment, this doesn’t mean you necessarily lead them In battle but that in each regiment the people are split into squads of 5 nano soldiers for guerrilla ops, you are the person in overall command of your own, this is new and I will try to make it work by tonight). The central command is located in the Himalayans and is carved into all of the mountains, in the mountains we carved hundreds of miles of tunnels and chambers and rooms, its not just some huge cavern. The main control room is in Mt. Everest and all of the mountains are interconnected by tunnels at their lowest points. That is how all 7 bases are hidden, in mountains. The name of the base is "Everest base" and we are the first division responsible for the Asian continent.

Basically at first I was the only one there since I am the one that created the guerrilla bases and organized them. The holians than invaded but thanks to shogun and Omega they distracted them and gave us enough time to finish prepping the bases.

Than during the invasion all of the guerrilla bases remained totally silent for at least a week. That way the holians would let down their guard. For the past month and a week (story time) we have been infiltrating their cities and civilian populations because they made earth into a new civilian colony. The holian soldiers are usually 7 feet tall and are genetically modified to be stronger than the civilians. The civilians are mostly normal humans with the notable difference that they all look like they are in their 20's and their eye colors are, purple, green, and gold/yellow. Mostly my character has been doing infiltration in Shanghai, reading in the library and has befriended two holians one a woman named aria and another a guy named Koffler. We learned that the government has covered up the evidence of recent human habitation (and when I say "human" I mean earth humans) and has hidden any evidence of recent life from their civilian population. The civilians think the cities they are living in are ancient cities that were populated by a civilization that died a few thousand years ago.

Than… Shogun and Omega destroyed jamming transmitters. Than began descending, shogun went to Mt. Fuji, infiltrated an enemy ship than blew it up. Omega got shot down, my character found him and his fiancé Relena. Than when we were in the woods My character heard a patrol, got Omega and Relena to leave, than I fought the patrol, killed 8 guys in an epic fight in I think page 98 or 99. Than I was captured by the last four. Tortured, Aria found out that my character was not the holian she thought I was. Oh yeah, and all the soldiers use nano suits designed by the guys on my old ship Infinite angel. It's basically similar to the nano suit in crysis. It is a full body suit that has four modes. Cloak-makes you invisible to sensors, strength- makes you super strong and super fast, armor- makes you bulletproof so long as you have energy, tactical- highlights enemies and diverts power to sensors so you can identify injuries on yourself, friends, or enemies, it identifies enemy weapons and says how an enemy was killed. It has a power generator but as you use each ability it drains power over time. Also there's also other functions that the suit can do which are minor, like heal you, administer drugs, etc.

Shogun and Omega rescued me, took me back to base, and now I am recovering.

That's basically the background. At the moment we pushed back the bad guys (holians) out of earth, we moved everyone back on earth. But the forces on either side of the conflict are practically in shambles, neither side can really attack the other and its a race to see who can repair their forces first. And what I'm suggesting for the continuing storyline is that since earth cant spare the soldiers that we, (and by that I mean the current characters), infiltrate with a stealth ship and nano suits in a group of three to five people into the capitol and wreack havoc.

If you want a good read go to page 90 and read from there to 106. Its a pretty good read.

okay. Would you like to join us for the whole sabotage thing if the other members want to do it or do you want to continue on your own?

okay. Would you like to join us for the whole sabotage thing if the other members want to do it or do you want to continue on your own?

I'll probably come in in the near future - going to bide my time and come in when the moment is right :) After all, what's a pretty ship without a pretty entrance

OOC: Oh yeah, me and Omega left earth, after an attempted coup by my character's faction ( not my character, but the faction ). Omega went on an expedition, and I left in self-imposed exile. We were LONG after that page, but that is all you really need to know.

OOC: Get scouts to look for me everywhere, and get them to send messages requesting us to go back to aid Earth.

OOC: Canada lost to Russia..... NOOO!!!! Well the russians played extremely well, feel sorry for the poor bloke that let in 5 goals. I used to be a AA minor hockey goalie..... gave it up for more tennis before I could make AAA.....I know how it feels to have let the team down.....but it was only at AA level.....it must felt much worse in the world junior championships....

OOC: Get scouts to look for me everywhere, and get them to send messages requesting us to go back to aid Earth.

"Where's shogun?" I asked some archivist

"The official record states he was killed during the coup." my intel officer said

"That's the official record..." I said

"Well, reading between the lines..." I could see him skimming through the page

"They never found a body, and none of the traitors we interrogated knew where, or even if he had been in any fights." He said

"Okay, thats good." I said

"So, if he's not dead, and that's enough of a longshot as it is, then where is he?" -the S1 said

"On some obscure planet that nobody outside of the terran republic could possibly know about, somewhere hidden by natural anomalies, somewhere he could stay close and out of eye, somewhere staring us straight in the eye." I said

"Delta?" he said

"Delta"

"Makes sense, we just left, and there's no more then a few military divisions keeping a few of the structures ready in the future on just one of the continents." he said

"Well, now we have got to find him, he's probably somewhere close enough to a base that he can listen in to the outside world, yet somewhere where he won't be seen." I said

"why is that?" The S1 said

"Have you ever met Shogun before?" I said

"No" he said

"He sticks out worse then a sore thumb" I said

"Send the 3rd platoon." I said

Normally, one would refer to which division and then company and then which platoon they meant. But the 3rd platoon, a part of the 54th recon infantry division in I corps was famous enough that when you heard about the 3rd platoon, you knew exactly which one out of the thousands of 3rd platoons out there that you are hearing about. They're called the bloodhounds, and they take it seriously. They're a 55 man platoon and they are the best when it comes to finding somebody, anybody, anywhere. They can find some obscure civilian in the middle of a forest on some brutal planet without breaking a sweat.

Captain Aaron Ayante, in the starship Noble, exits Quantum Slipstream just outside of Pluto - long range scanners lash out on all frequencies, lighting the ship up like a beacon, but also giving him detailed scans of the happenings in the sector.

"My God... what happened here..." he whispers, awestruck at the scene before him.

"Lieutenant Sato, send out a priority one message to all ships in the area - inform them that we are here to offer assistance as needed."

"Aye Captain", the young Lieutenant, Himiko Sato, replies. Her family has been a member of Starfleet for generations, hailing back to Hoshi Sato on the NX-01 - he mused at the fact that a family would choose this life for so long, but quickly brought his mind back to the task at hand.

"All hands, yellow alert" he calls.

"Shields up, charge the primary phaser banks and bring the emitters to hot standby. Load quantum torpedo pre-loaders and disengage the safety protocols, this is NOT A DRILL. All hands to duty stations, I repeat - this is not a drill!" his XO, Commander Malcolm Bradley relayed the appropriate orders with the efficiency and command Aaron had come to expect of the young man.

"Once more, into the breach we go..." Aaron muttered.

OOC - there's my intro, let me know who's still around :D

OOC:Omega went on an expedition,

Out Of Game: Sort of. I took my ship and the Gargantuan on a war path.

Nice to see a new face Kittamaru, welcome to the fleet. I am Grand Admiral Omega, Commander of the SSS Aggressor.

Fed, I like the idea, but I don't want to seperate Omega from the Aggressor, and it'd be inconsistent(sic) to send Tiberius. So do I create a new character?

PS: Sorry I haven't been on lately guys, between my internet being down and school work, I can't frequently get on.
