Well considering the Emperor commisioned it....not a lot, unless he likes being on the wrong end of force lightning.

Or get crushed by Force Crush or killed by Force Storm.

There are lots of government lands that have been leased to oil companies for development. But suprisingly they have not been developed? I wonder why?

Here's some photos I took at a exhibition that came to our local Science and Industry museum last year.

These are the actual models used in filming.

Did you make that model? It is rather jolly.
It's my own 3D rendering based on plans I found on the Web. (all the images I've put on this this thread, with the exception of the photos in my last post, are my own 3d renderings of the ships.)

I included the "Fireball XL5" because watching this show on Sat. mornings is my earliest memory of any exposure to SF (I was 4 to 5 yrs old at the time). As dated as it is now, I loved it at the time.

I don't think everything about XL5 was silly; the tracked launch system was quite reasonable, and some designs for launch tracks were proposed in the '50s but never built. Of course the details would have been quite different, but obviously someone had done their homework.

hey Eburacum...do you have the physical gravitational calculations for the speed of that thing, its mass, and moment of inertia?

The Bishop Ring?
Here are a couple of references about the concept.
Open Air Space Habitats by Forrest Bishop, the originator of the concept;
Space-Habitat Illuminators with Non-Imaging Optics (PDF)

Bishop rings are constructed using carbon nanotube, and are approximately a thousand kilometers in radius (the actual radius depends on how heavy the landscape layer is). They rotate once every half-hour or so, depending on the gravity required. They have a similar internal surface area to the subcontinent of India.

Gundam Seed Destiny is one of my favorite shows. The first picture is Destiny Gundam vs Strike Freedom Gundam. The second picture is a Strike Freedom Gundam. The third picture is a Justice Gundam. Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice are my favorite Gundams.

Ah, addicted to Gundam SEED lately, are we? I went through that phase once, with the Destiny being my favorite.

I'd take this over any SW ship anyday. *Snip image*

Halo and Star Wars are almost equal, but Star Wars wins because of the TT weapons that can fire fast. The Halo TT weapons is the Plasma torpedo. Oh, and Hyperdrive is faster than Slipspace. Almost a tie, though.
