Whats the difference between a hoopworld and a ringworld ? The curves on the outside ?
Among other things, yes. A ringworld is a slice of a cylinder, and is flat; it rotates to give centrifugal gravity on the inside only. On the other hand a hoopworld is shaped like a donut; the planet is solid and massive, and you are held down by real gravity. To get an Earth-like gravity and a daily rotation rate of 24 hours the hoop must have a radius of 70,000 km, and the small radius must be 3000 km.
