Post a Cool Picture

Plitvice Lakes in Croatia looks like the garden of eden.

For some reason your show spoiler didn't work for me, so I went to the link and copied the picture, and it was worth it.

Oh, and people should be careful not to animalize humans.

Huh? Being contentious, are we?
All humans are animals. All animals are not humans.
Or are you using the general definition "to excite the animal passions of"? That could be a good thing you know.. :D

Very interesting image, to me, Twelve.

The photo looks to be shot inside a riding arena, and the horses are all quite content to take a break from their schooling.

All of the riders are bareback and working without bridles, with only a thin string around the base of the neck of each horse for gentle reinforcement.

At a guess, I would think that the fitness of the horse and rider at the center position indicates them to be the instructor teaching a natural horsemanship class. :)

Yes, I also read that they were rehearsing a show in a farm.

The flow of water was stopped completely over both falls on March 29th 1848 due to an ice jam in the upper river for several hours. This is the only known time to have occurred. The Falls did not actually freeze over, but the flow was stopped to the point where people actually walked out and recovered artifacts from the riverbed!

So - what happens if a cat or mouse run through the arena?

Here's an interesting waterfall activity for you, KJ! :D

If that doesn't appeal, here's a link to a few other winter adventures that may be of more interest to you.

I like my winter adventures in a warmer climate. However that doesn't stop me from enjoying the colder winter sights from my warm position in front of the computer.:D

Horses are very cognizant of motion, and evaluate same on speed and proximity as much as size. It would greatly depend on just how much experience the horses have, whether they would just flick an ear or move their body.

I once rode a reining pattern with a border collie in hot pursuit. As it stayed out of my range of vision, I was not even aware, and my obedient horse did not falter in her paces, she being quite used to dogs encountered when riding.

The judge was kind enough to offer us a re-ride, but I was satisfied that we had done decent enough work to place well in the class. :)

I hate to say it, but if I was driving around and saw this roundish rock, I'd feel and over whelming urge to try and get it rolling down hill.:D

The Columbia River Gorge scenic area is famous for its waterfalls. I was there during the summer. Here’s a photo that I took of Abiqua Falls. Check out the basalt columns.

It’s supposed to be breath taking during winter.
