i do hope this is better than the toilet tunes you provided links for in the other thread... anyway i am interested in checking them out so pls provide a link.
I am listening to:
REM - Night Swimming (the best tune they have done IMO)
UMC's - one to grow on
Razor Light - America (courtsey of Sam)
Wu-tang CLan - Tearz
Love Like Blood - Killing Joke
She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
Der Verfluchte Engel - Front 242
Les & Ray - Le Tigre
This Corrosion - Sisters of Mercy
Lucretia - Sisters of Mercy
Temple of Love - Sisters of Mercy
Gypsy - Uriah Heep
You Got Lucky - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Song to the Siren - This Mortal Coil
I hadn't either until the last time I was in France. Had a couple of hours to kill at Lyon airport and I bought a French rock mag with a free CD of "women in rock" sampler - Le Tigre and Dance Hall Crashers really caught my ear and I spent the next few months trying to track down full CDs for each of them. Not much luck, but Soul Seek (download) works for a lot stuff, and I did manage to get Le Tigre's first CD as a hard copy from a very obscure catalogue one shop had. Sort of punk-ethic to the music (unpolished sound in other words) but very listenable.
Anything like Les Negresses Vertes, or Mano negra? I love Lyon the only place in France where I spent some time (met and looked after some french exchange students in Phila PA).
Not heard of either of them. But I'll keep an eye out now. All I saw of Lyon was the airport, but I've spent a fair time in Aix les Bains, Montelimar and Loriol-sur-Drome. And Paris, but I don't count that, I was there as a tourist...)
