I don't see how mafia members could get any useful information since they already know everyones status (Mafia/townie), and why on earth would they expose themselves by giving you a good role then killing you? that would just prove they were mafia

Heh. Essay on Human Suspicion.

Starting Line: In a game of mafia, the basis of human suspicion is revealed.. we always suspect those that do anything of too much, those that talk too much, think too much, curse too much, kill too much, love too much. We are suspicious of anything not like us. It is this suspicion that has allowed dictators to exploit us for centuries, with the recent TWAT, ongoing, it has become easier to be suspicious.
