Justification of racism

I think the race issue is overblown by media and perpetuated to keep folks riled up and discontented. The comment concerning white priv. Was my attempt at comedy, because really WP?..is there really any of that around nowadays?---but to be labeled a racist for pointing out that people of same cultures enjoy living in close proximity to one another is just short minded and playing up to the medias nonexsistant race war or race card....whatever stupid idiom is catchphrased. White privilege, give me a break.....
This is an interesting statement considering your avatar on this site is of a girl who belonged to the League of German Girls, the girl's wing of the Nazi Party in Germany.

Do you still want me to give you a break?

I am not saying that you do. But it is an interesting image, don't you think? Especially if we are to take your comments about white privilege at face value, comedic or not.

And especially if it accompanies a message dismissing racism as being "overblown by media and perpetuated to keep folks riled up and discontented".

You advised that you feel more comfortable around, what I can only presume to be your own "race", I am curious about something. Do you have a one drop rule? Or do you go by appearance alone?

Please, I dont ever judge anyone on their skin color, belief or the car they choose to drive....I look around in San Francisco and see folks gouped together in racial 'hoods----there are exceptions but they are not breaking any laws by choosing different homes...People of all races hold jobs and sooooo i again say race card is overblown and used too liberally....

There is no other way to recognize any human being as belonging to a different race. If you didn't judge by skin color, you wouldn't have any "races" to talk about.

Aint all bad and isolating though---its taught me some valuable lessons too: if'n a cop says stop, I stop. I don't run and I dont reach and make waistband hand movements----white lifes matter and thanks to my white priv. I know this.....
Too bad your fellow white guys haven't figured this out as well: http://www.mediaite.com/online/fbi-...on-militants-death-during-ammon-bundy-arrest/

The white privilege is visible, btw: he really did have a gun, he really had been and was threatening the police with a loaded firearm (as well as the vehicle itself, which missed a cop by not much at all), and the police did not simply shoot up the vehicle and anyone in it.

Nobody in that white gang got the Black Panther treatment, in other words.

Why dont you explain to me why it is people of the same color/culture/ethnicity live in close proximity of one another? Are there unwritten laws that prohibit where ANYBODY wants to work live or play? People choose...

What country are you talking about? Certainly not the USA. Ever since the Civil War and the demise of slavery, "black" and "white" Americans have lived in close proximity in many towns and cities--although not all of them until rather recently.

Today it's difficult to find a town that doesn't have both groups. The same is true of Americans of Latin-American ancestry and of East Asian ancestry. In fact intermarriage is becoming quite common. Our president is generally regarded as "African-American," yet his mother was Caucasian.

Even the Native Americans, who were the last group that the general population stopped trying to exterminate, have moved in close proximity to the rest of us, and indeed have intermarried at a very high rate. There are still several "reservations" populated primarily by the "Indians," but the majority of our native people live among us, or at least very close to us.

Should I point out the obvious here? Or do you see it for yourself?

there are exceptions but they are not breaking any laws by choosing different homes.
And then they move next door to someone like you, who only likes to hang around white people because that is what you are most comfortable with.

People of all races hold jobs and sooooo i again say race card is overblown and used too liberally....
You say it is overblown, but you have played it repeatedly and thrown in some white supremacy, just to be sure. Your posts, sir/madam, resembles what one would often see from a polite racist. Your use of stereotypes has not gone unnoticed. In fact, your posts reek of them.

As I asked before, and which you avoided answering, do you go by looks alone, or do you apply a one drop rule?

And Im sure these unfortunate cattle farmers came from white privilege too...white privilege. Ok
Why don't you ask the Native Americans that question?

To wit, the cattle farmers were never the original owners of that land. And yet, they demand it be given to them as original owners? Funny that, huh?

Why dont you explain to me why it is people of the same color/culture/ethnicity live in close proximity of one another?
They don't.

Why are you projecting?

Is it because you only feel comfortable around white people? Because you can speak to them but not others from other ethnic groups? Is it a language barrier? Why do you think people from other ethnic groups will have nothing to say to you?

Are you aware, that this website is multi-cultural, with people from various cultures and countries around the world? In short, this place is not white only. So you will excuse me for questioning what would possess you to come here, with an avatar from the Nazi's, and saying that you only like to hang around with white people?

They only wanted Federal land turned over to who it rightfully belongs to..US!
I treat and interact with everyone the same: with respect and friendly banter.
I dont know what city your from but almost every melting pot city I've ever been in, they've mostly been seemingly segregated by their OWN doing....not by racial bigotry or uncle tom rule....
As far as the cops shooting only young blacks: I implore you to break the law, run for your life, not halt and then act like your gonna draw....you will be shot. Maybe you will have one bullet hole, maybe ten, maybe even thirty.
Years ago while working as an earthquake reinforcment carpenter I was put in charge of a group of 'carpenters' who had never swung one hammer in their life...the city had to hire these 'carpenters' due to equal employment opprotunity---while a few of my journeyman carpenter friends did not even make it into the interview process...hmmm something as important as earthquake reinforcement being done by a group of folks that didnt know screw from nail....yep thats one racist society, to put racial quota before safety.

Or take a flight to Las Angeles Head south till you get to an area called Crenshaw.....take a look around and report back here if you see any mixed races hanging around laughing and carrying on! Please, it aint me nor any other 'racist' holding what you might see to that area or any other....people like living within their own groups. If they dont, they move it on down the line to somewhere they like....brentwood or somewhere their cheddar holds weight!

Yes. That's why they didn't end up shot or in jail long ago. Their welfare don't stink.

Culture and ethnicity are one thing - the cause is the consequence. We identify cultures and ethnicities by their living in proximity in general - if they didn't, they wouldn't be cultures and ethnicities.

As far as the same color, that's a bit strange, because it's such a trivial and inherently inconsequential feature - there's no immediate reason why people of different cultures and ethnicities should live near each other because they share a skin color. But in the US of course there is the obvious explanation - this kind of thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundown_town

Described by former NAACP President Julian Bond as "One of the survival tools of segregated life",[9]The Negro Motorist Green Book (at times titled The Negro Traveler's Green Book or The Negro Motorist Green-Book, and commonly referred to simply as the "Green Book") was an annual, segregation-era guidebook published by Hackensack, New Jersey letter carrier turned New York travel agent Victor H. Green, for African-American motorists.[9] It was published in the United States from 1936 to 1966, during the Jim Crow era, when discrimination against non-whites was widespread.[10] Road trips for African-Americans were fraught with inconveniences and dangers, because of racial segregation, racial profiling by police, the phenomenon of travelers just "disappearing", and the existence of numerous sundown towns. According to author Kate Kelly, "there were at least 10,000 'sundown towns' in the United States as late as the 1960s; in a 'sundown town' nonwhites had to leave the city limits by dusk, or they could be picked up by the police or worse. These towns were not limited to the South—they ranged from Levittown, N.Y., to Glendale, Calif., and included the majority of municipalities in Illinois."

Surely the sundown laws aren't in effect in this day and age! Im not denying previous generations as being nonracist---but its now a moot point 2016 dont you agree?

But it wouldn't be to you.

It would be to a select group of cattle ranchers and no one else.

You would no longer have any right to visit that land. The Native Americans who still live on that land would be forced to vacate.

I treat and interact with everyone the same: with respect and friendly banter.
I can see that from your posts in this thread. To start with, your avatar is questionable when one takes you posts in this thread into consideration. You stereotyped negatively and advised that you seem to believe in a segregated structure in society, where each only sticks to their own. Do you think this is respectful and friendly banter?

I dont know what city your from but almost every melting pot city I've ever been in, they've mostly been seemingly segregated by their OWN doing....not by racial bigotry or uncle tom rule....
It seems to me you have never really visited a melting pot city.

What is worse, you seem to live with this ideal that one should be sticking to others just like one's self, while ignoring the inherent bigotry and racism that drove this type of ideology to begin with. Less than 100 years ago, a black person could not sit anywhere they liked on a bus, nor could they live where they wanted to and were forced to live in certain areas of each city, town and zone. Do you understand how this might be carried on today? You seem to deny that racial bigotry and the uncle Tom rule, actually has an bearing or affect on today's society. Ironically, you seem to employ it yourself in how you judge others and how you think you might be able to interact with them based solely on the colour of their skin.

Hence my question about the one drop rule or if you go by looks alone. Which you are still to respond to.

So do you go by looks alone in determining if they are like you? Or do you employ the one drop rule to determine if they are white or not?

As far as the cops shooting only young blacks: I implore you to break the law, run for your life, not halt and then act like your gonna draw....you will be shot. Maybe you will have one bullet hole, maybe ten, maybe even thirty.
Most of the shootings involving young black men involved no crime whatsoever. Unless of course you believe that shooting someone 8 times in the back or executing them as they stand cowering against a wall execution style, or holding a wallet or phone in hand and being shot multiple times, constitute an acceptable level of force in your opinion?

But a white man, armed to the teeth, is given an infinitesimal amount of time before police take a shot. But a black man holding a pack of cigarettes in hand gets choked to death, unarmed youth are shot multiple times, looking at police and riding away results in arrest and being killed by police action which resulted in a broken neck, men are shot multiple times in the back, or gunned down in an execution style murder..

And glorifying it as you have, misrepresenting the problem as you are doing, is endemic to the justification of racism.

Or you could have trained them, and taught them.

You know, instead of complaining?

Oh wait, that's right. You only like to hang around white people.

Why do you play the race card, and believe me, you played a fairly major race card, only to then suggest that others put away the race card? Isn't that contradictory? Hypocritical, even?

Except that isn't the point.

You might recall that recently I had a couple words here and there about this and that and lasting long enough and something in there about being harmless, and all that sort of thing.

You might even have caught me muttering something or other about Smurfs.

Notice our neighbor's focus: White privilege.

This is just about exactly on schedule.

I DID train the few who wanted to work and actually showed up to work----difficult and filthy work = low moral (even with full city benefits)
I dont know what you mean by one drop rule.....
I live in SF Cal.
I am reporting what I have seen and witnessed here in Sf, my time in LA and other cities here in the US and abroad.....just because I see something that doesnt endulge your fantasy about living in a racist society---because the majority of my peers and friends happened to be of the same gender, race and color. I am a racist.....ok, tell that to your typical african american male....ask what his majority peer group is and if he says the same, call him racist!!

The One drop rule doesnt apply to me because I dont exclude anyone based on blood line, race, creed or color....

Their influence on where people live is all around you, obvious. Why else - except for things like that - would people choose their neighbors based on skin color?

sunnevershines said:

Most of the adults in the US grew up in communities segregated by skin color, enforced by white people's violence, justified by white people's racial bigotry and prejudice. You, for example, think people with different skin colors belong to different races. Where would you get nonsense like that? If it's a moot point, I mean. If racism disappeared in 1966, by magic somehow.

sunnevershines said:

It refers to the presumption that if any ancestor was black, the person is. It's the rule used by people who look at neighborhoods like Crenshaw and see only black people - no "mixed race" people are visible to them.

Brief Commentary: One-Drop

Since we're doing the history lesson it should be noted that the one-drop rule has been upheld in my lifetime, in the strangest of cases by which the decedents hoped to prove their late relative wasn't black.

That would be Louisiana, sometime in the late eighties.

To the other, we might have finally broken the one-drop rule; during the days when racism was just a "tool" in a "policy" fight―circa 2009―we did eventually reach a point at which the racists argued that we hadn't elected a black president because Barack Obama was part white.

The question is what the rule will be the next time it comes up; something tells me the inversion was more of a gaffe, a desperate grasping at straws. Still, it's up to the racists whether or not we're done with this not-white-enough-for-white-have-you-fucking-tried-bleach-yet? routine.

So says my queer threepenny bit.

Two cents.

I mean, two cents.

Queer as a three dollar penny.

Hate it when I blow a joke and everything comes to disaster.
