I beg to differ. Even though I can't define god, I am very aware of the fact that I am part of something much greater than I, and that there is a spiritual realm, and its interacted with me and affected me greatly.

Why is it that you are so vehemently turned off by the idea of and/or the word god?

I am not turned off by the word 'god'. It just doesn't mean anything, as you made perfectly clear, not even to someone that claims to have talked with it

And who causes this change?

You're wearing out the rolleyes icon. Lol

The way it happened with me is that I desired to be shown, I was shown, and then I desired what I was shown. I think that our thoughts and desires manifest. Because I was shown, and it made sense to me, and I've seen the power associated with this dynamic, I believe it with all my heart, and when I'm given a way, I will recognize it and take it.

A word is a word, but the thing itself means everything to me.

I call it god because the characteristics its shown me are indicative of what is called god.

Seems that the health of the earth is contingent upon the demise of the beings who are destroying it. The earth will recover like she always does.

I couldn't help but notice the aisle after aisle after store after store floor to ceiling mountains of crap. Cheap, disposable, ugly, useless, crap. The only reason its produced is to make money, and the only reason its consumed is because we have money, and think all this useless crap is going to make us happy or fulfilled.

I've also spent over a decade working in the restaurant industry, and I know I threw away more food in an average day than I actually fed to people. Everyday stuck behind in a futile effort to get around all of the obese people waddling slowly to their tables, barely able to walk, so they can kill themselves some more. Watching all of the parents who feed their poor doomed children a steady diet of processed breaded deep fried meat, sugar, fat, and artificial coloring. And we wonder why so many children are sick and on drugs. Do kids even play outside anymore? Or are they all too busy texting, and playing video games, watching TV, on the computer, or doing their mountains of homework so they can grow up to be good little slaves to the federal reserve like their parents.

Just more disposable crap. And the waste we create is killing us!

This society we live in is so perverse!

we attempt to destroy nature primarily to make money, but nature is winning, and will win. the consequence of our attempts result in our own death. the wages of sin is death. that is according to law (nature).

What is most amazing about the issue of sustainability is the fact that modern society is trying to sustain the unsustainable - it is trying to sustain a consumerist system which has existed for almost zero percent of human existence on earth. The present consumerist lifestyle has existed for about 100 years. If we compare this with the total duration of human existence on earth it comes to almost zero percent.

Economy is a non-issue. Environment is important. Economy will not even exist without environment. Humans will not even exist without environment.

Modern society has plunged to extreme depths of insanity.

Modern society thinks it can be sustainable while it continues producing thousands of consumer goods.

Modern society thinks a peaceul world is possible while it continues to sell billions of tonnes of weapons all over the world.

Modern society thinks cancer can be cured while it continues flooding the ecosystems with thousands of carcinogens.

On a small planet which is just 40,000 km in circumference the first rule of sustainability is - destroy less.

The less we destroy - the more sustainable we are.

The fewer things we make - the more sustainable we are.

On a small planet like earth only a non-consumerist society can be sustainable - only a society that destroys ecosystems for food, clothing, shelter[and health care] can be sustainable.

When something goes wrong with our cars, computers and aeroplanes, we contact the manufacturer to know how they could be repaired - where they could be repaired.

All ecosystems on earth are getting destroyed moment by moment. To repair, restore and regenerate them we need to contact the manufacturer. But where is the manufacturer of ecosystems? There is no human manufacturer - There are no multiNational Companies that manufactured rivers and oceans, fertile soil, forests, millions of species, millions of members in millions of species, arctic ice and other glaciers.

About 30 years ago most people refused to believe that arctic ice was melting or could melt in future.

Then satellite pictures started appearing and provided proof with "before and after" pictures. People reluctantly accepted that ice was melting - but were still not alarmed. They said it would take hundreds of years - thousands of years for ice to melt to a dangerous level.

If we compare satellite pictures of arctic ice of this year with those taken 30 years ago we would know how alarming the situation is.

Every ecosystem is in grave danger. The doomsday scenario is approaching hundreds of times faster than predicted earlier. The signs - the indicators are already there - the recent climate changes - the extreme weather conditions - droughts, floods, fires, hurricanes and typhoons. The collapse has already happened for millions of other species - they have been decimated. Human collapse is very near - just around the corner.

They still exist. They are multi-Galaxy companies that terraform to suck your life energy...they have been doing it for Billions of years...:D

We humans have not done it yet...but just wait another 1000 years, we will develop a Genesis machine to do just that.

Sushil, cancer is big business. Disease in general is. Those making money off of it don't want a cure. They want us sick broke ignorant and apathetic.

You don't even know what it is.
i know what it's done to me.

What do you call God?
whatever it is that's done this to me.

Characteristics? You don't know any characteristics. If you would you'd know what it is.
i actually listed it's characteristics for YOU in another thread.

By who?

Take a good hard look at the quotes above. You are talking utter, and circular, nonsense.

no i'm not. you just don't understand. now focus...

something has interacted with me. i have experienced it in my life, and it has had a dramatic effect on my life. through this interaction and experience, i have been able to observe some of it's characteristics. characteristics that i have previously listed per your request in another thread. the characteristics of the thing, albeit not a definition of the thing, has led me to conclude that it is god. can i define god? no. can i experience god? yes. and through my experience can i observe characteristics of god? yes. can this thing that i'm calling god mean everything to me because of this experience and the effect it's had on my life? yes. can i trust it because of this (ie. faith)? yes i do.

The only thing that can be established (even by your own words) is that something happened to you.

the characteristics of the thing, albeit not a definition of the thing,
The only things that define a thing are its characteristics.

has led me to conclude that it is god.
There was no conclusion.

Lori: "I call it god because the characteristics its shown me are indicative of what is called god."
Enmos: "By who?"
Lori: "by me"

Circular!

can i define god? no.
You DID define God by assigning these characteristics to him!

can i experience god? yes.
Highly questionable, but ok..

and through my experience can i observe characteristics of god? yes.
You are going backwards.
You experienced something you can't explain, so you named it god. Right? Right.
Now you are saying it is god because it has these characteristics.
Circular!

can this thing that i'm calling god mean everything to me because of this experience and the effect it's had on my life? yes.
So you're now admitting that you just named a weird experience "god"? Progress.

can i trust it because of this (ie. faith)? yes i do.
"Yes i do" is not an answer to your own question.
Possible answers would be:
- No, I can't.
- Yes, I can.
- I don't know.

Let me introduce you to the REAL God:

Why you ask?
Why, because it has all the characteristics of what is called god.
Who calls things like the thing in the picture God???
Well, I do.

And another one because I know you like it so much.
