In your opinion, who are the most interesting gods?

The Dead Arise

The sermon preached
But it did not reach,
For no one moved
Or made a peep,
They being more
Than asleep.

Is it to the dead
That I drone and read?

The sermon sum
Was finally done
And stirrings drew
From a few,
Then all this life knew,
From their dreams of fun,
Rushing out as one.

The Quick and the Dead

The sermonizer tired
Of preaching to the choir,
So he reached out to the dead,
Pontificating, lecturing to them instead—
That counseling expounding advisor;
But the dead became none the wiser.

OK, by popular demand, we will soon get to the famous Intelligent Designer God, and more, but first, a grand introduction:

INTO THE LAND OF ALL THE GODS

Into the realm of supernatural figmentations
I drifted off, within my newest imagination.
To interview all the living Gods there;
Some who’ve left and some yet ruling everywhere.

Notions of ‘God’ are of the wide purview
Of the inquiring mind confined, their ‘why’—
That wide expanse of fables, faith, hoaxes,
Lies, imaginations, fictions, guesses,

Foggy notions, concoctions, phantasms,
Fantasies, falsehoods, conceptions,
Decrees, fiats, misrepresentations,
Dead ideas, magic, proclamations,
Wild tales, anecdotes, revelations,
Untruths, revelations, hearsay, scrap heaps,
Yarns, and fish stories stated as beliefs
In that unseeable supernatural station
Through faith’s without knowledge ration;

These are all figmentations of the imagination.

Strewn about this great panoramic realm
Of the ONE possibly conceivable at the helm
Are all of the unknowable fabrications
Often Dreamt up via exaggerations
By the human race of mammal sapiens.

The realm of such Pronouncements has come to be
Superposed at the furthest edge of Reality,
Poised by the scope of some wishful thinking,
By all those dreaming and wild supposing,
Who wish for such legends to be ever
Actualized and realized; however,
These ideas have never ever made it
Into our observable realistic habitat in any way,
They but remaining in the minds, joint,
Of the God-beholders—
Even as varying viewpoints.

Without so much much as a word to say,
I passed those to whom most no longer pray,
Nor believe in, but once did, namely,
Those of the graveyard tombstones now so unholy:

Astrology—the God of the Stars that plod,
Eternally blazed and marbled in the sod,
The monuments of Diana the Moon God,
Apollo the Sun God , Baal, Zeus, Wotan,
Aphrodite, Thor, Mithras, Isis, Amon,
Poseidon, the Druid Gods, and on and on, anon.

I ever hurried past the ledgering
Of those older Mythologies preceding
The formation of the Old Testament story—
Those ancient superstitions whose very
And various olden amalgamations
Came forth to form it whole for our salvation.

I paused at that Old Testament maligned,
To mark the old but lingering lines
Of the ‘knowing’ of more invisibles,
The beliefs in imagined angelic creatures…

There were Angels standing, frozen in stone,
Over the timeworn memorials’ poems,
And atop the crumbling gateposts,
They being the livelier and near-living ghosts
Of the representations of the three spheres
Of the heavenly host: the demigod-near
Seraphims, Cherubims, Ophanims,
Thrones, Principalities, Dominions,
Powers, Archangels, Angels, and, those final,
And perhaps the most useful—the Guardian Angels
That are said to protect children from falls.

There, Amaranth, its dead red leaves never
Ever fading on this Earth unto forever,
Gave some color around the graveyard pallor
And to the dateless headstones’ squalor.

ChristChurchCemeterymoreF.jpg

There’s a garish purplish maroon view, on high,
Of streaking lights of an electromagnetic sky,
Heretofore never imagined by my self;
I strolled on and into the vale itself.

Every-thing, every order happens for a reason?
Yes, for the most part, for most seasons,
But not for the bottommost cause the first,
For there was nothing before it to reason it forth.

Thats Pretty Good > I liked it when you said my other name Amalgamation , Yeah Buddy you making browny points now. Furthest edge of reality was a pretty good explanation too. But what I like the most was " Yarns and fish stories. I like telling my fish stories . I just told one yesterday about Hambey Lake which is just outside of wisdom Montana , Ah closer to Jackson . The wishful thinking thing sounds like the Great house of Egypt to Me. The wish of prosperity and all . Watch out what you say about my good buddy Mithra . He will wrestle you to the floor like you where the Bull of heaven and brake your little finger.

By those who range themselves in ranks,
Waalssaffati saffan

37:2 And so are strong in repelling (evil),
Faalzzajirati zajran

37:3 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)!
Faalttaliyati thikran

37:4 Verily, verily, your Allah is one!-
Inna ilahakum lawahidun

37:5 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun!
Rabbu alssamawati waal-ardiwama baynahuma warabbu almashariqi

37:6 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,-
Inna zayyanna alssamaaalddunya bizeenatin alkawakibi

37:7 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits,
Wahifthan min kulli shaytaninmaridin

37:8 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side,
La yassammaAAoona ila almala-ial-aAAla wayuqthafoona min kulli janibin

37:9 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty,
Duhooran walahum AAathabun wasibun

37:10 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness.
Illa man khatifa alkhatfatafaatbaAAahu shihabun thaqibun

37:11 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay!
Faistaftihim ahum ashaddu khalqan amman khalaqna inna khalaqnahum min teeninlazibin

37:12 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule,
Bal AAajibta wayaskharoona

37:13 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,-
Wa-itha thukkiroo la yathkuroona

37:14 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery,
Wa-itha raaw ayatanyastaskhiroona

37:15 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery!
Waqaloo in hatha illasihrun mubeenun

37:16 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again)
A-itha mitna wakunnaturaban waAAithaman a-innalamabAAoothoona

37:17 "And also our fathers of old?"
Awa abaona al-awwaloona

37:18 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)."
Qul naAAam waantum dakhiroona

37:19 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see!
Fa-innama hiya zajratun wahidatunfa-itha hum yanthuroona

37:20 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!"
Waqaloo ya waylana hathayawmu alddeeni

37:21 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!"
Hatha yawmu alfasli allatheekuntum bihi tukaththiboona

37:22 "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped-
Ohshuroo allatheena thalamoowaazwajahum wama kanoo yaAAbudoona

37:23 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire!
Min dooni Allahi faihdoohum ilasirati aljaheemi

37:24 "But stop them, for they must be asked:
Waqifoohum innahum masooloona

37:25 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'"
Ma lakum la tanasaroona

37:26 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment);
Bal humu alyawma mustaslimoona

37:27 And they will turn to one another, and question one another.
Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdinyatasaaloona

37:28 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!"
Qaloo innakum kuntum ta/toonanaAAani alyameeni

37:29 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith!
Qaloo bal lam takoonoo mu/mineena

37:30 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion!
Wama kana lanaAAalaykum min sultanin bal kuntum qawman tagheena

37:31 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins).
Fahaqqa AAalayna qawlu rabbinainna latha-iqoona

37:32 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray."
Faaghwaynakum inna kunnaghaweena

37:33 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty.
Fa-innahum yawma-ithin fee alAAathabimushtarikoona

37:34 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners.
Inna kathalika nafAAalu bialmujrimeena

37:35 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride,
Innahum kanoo itha qeela lahumla ilaha illa Allahu yastakbiroona

37:36 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?"
Wayaqooloona a-inna latarikoo alihatinalishaAAirin majnoonin

37:37 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the apostles (before him).
Bal jaa bialhaqqi wasaddaqaalmursaleena

37:38 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;-
Innakum latha-iqoo alAAathabial-aleemi

37:39 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;-
Wama tujzawna illa makuntum taAAmaloona

37:40 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,-
Illa AAibada Allahialmukhlaseena

37:41 For them is a Sustenance determined,
Ola-ika lahum rizqun maAAloomun

37:42 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity,
Fawakihu wahum mukramoona

37:43 In Gardens of Felicity,
Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi

37:44 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity):
AAala sururin mutaqabileena

37:45 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain,
Yutafu AAalayhim bika/sin min maAAeenin

37:46 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof),
Baydaa laththatin lilshsharibeena

37:47 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom.
La feeha ghawlun walahum AAanha yunzafoona

37:48 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty).
WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfiAAeenun

37:49 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded.
Kaannahunna baydun maknoonun

37:50 Then they will turn to one another and question one another.
Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdinyatasaaloona

37:51 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth),
Qala qa-ilun minhum innee kanalee qareenun

37:52 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)?
Yaqoolu a-innaka lamina almusaddiqeena

37:53 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'"
A-itha mitna wakunnaturaban waAAithaman a-innalamadeenoona

37:54 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?"
Qala hal antum muttaliAAoona

37:55 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire.
FaittalaAAa faraahu feesawa-i aljaheemi

37:56 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition!
Qala taAllahi in kidtalaturdeeni

37:57 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)!
Walawla niAAmatu rabbee lakuntu minaalmuhdareena

37:58 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die,
Afama nahnu bimayyiteena

37:59 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?"
Illa mawtatana al-oolawama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena

37:60 Verily this is the supreme achievement!
Inna hatha lahuwa alfawzu alAAatheemu

37:61 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive.
Limithli hatha falyaAAmali alAAamiloona

37:62 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum?
Athalika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratualzzaqqoomi

37:63 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers.
Inna jaAAalnahafitnatan lilththalimeena

37:64 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire:
Innaha shajaratun takhruju fee aslialjaheemi

37:65 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils:
TalAAuha kaannahu ruoosu alshshayateeni

37:66 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith.
Fa-innahum laakiloona minhafamali-oona minha albutoona

37:67 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water.
Thumma inna lahum AAalayha lashawbanmin hameemin

37:68 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire.
Thumma inna marjiAAahum la-ila aljaheemi

37:69 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path;
Innahum alfaw abaahum dalleena

37:70 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps!
Fahum AAala atharihimyuhraAAoona

37:71 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;-
Walaqad dalla qablahum aktharual-awwaleena

37:72 But We sent aforetime, among them, (apostles) to admonish them;-
Walaqad arsalna feehim munthireena

37:73 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),-
Faonthur kayfa kanaAAaqibatu almunthareena

37:74 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah.
Illa AAibada Allahialmukhlaseena

37:75 (In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer.
Walaqad nadana noohunfalaniAAma almujeeboona

37:76 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity,
Wanajjaynahu waahlahu mina alkarbialAAatheemi

37:77 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth);
WajaAAalna thurriyyatahu humualbaqeena

37:78 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times:
Watarakna AAalayhi fee al-akhireena

37:79 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!"
Salamun AAala noohinfee alAAalameena

37:80 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right.
Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

37:81 For he was one of our believing Servants.
Innahu min AAibadinaalmu/mineena

37:82 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood.
Thumma aghraqna al-akhareena

37:83 Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham.
Wa-inna min sheeAAatihi la-ibraheema

37:84 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart.
Ith jaa rabbahu biqalbinsaleemin

37:85 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship?
Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mathataAAbudoona

37:86 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire?
A-ifkan alihatan doona Allahitureedoona

37:87 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?"
Fama thannukum birabbialAAalameena

37:88 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars.
Fanathara nathratanfee alnnujoomi

37:89 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!"
Faqala innee saqeemun

37:90 So they turned away from him, and departed.
Fatawallaw AAanhu mudbireena

37:91 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?...
Faragha ila alihatihimfaqala ala ta/kuloona

37:92 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?"
Ma lakum la tantiqoona

37:93 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand.
Faragha AAalayhim darban bialyameeni

37:94 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him).
Faaqbaloo ilayhi yaziffoona

37:95 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved?
Qala ataAAbudoona ma tanhitoona

37:96 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!"
WaAllahu khalaqakum wamataAAmaloona

37:97 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!"
Qaloo ibnoo lahu bunyananfaalqoohu fee aljaheemi

37:98 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated!
Faaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumual-asfaleena

37:99 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me!
Waqala innee thahibun ilarabbee sayahdeeni

37:100 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!"
Rabbi hab lee mina alssaliheena

37:101 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear.
Fabashsharnahu bighulamin haleemin

37:102 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"
Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAyaqala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanamiannee athbahuka faonthur mathatara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tu/marusatajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireena

37:103 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice),
Falamma aslama watallahuliljabeeni

37:104 We called out to him "O Abraham!
Wanadaynahu an ya ibraheemu

37:105 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
Qad saddaqta alrru/yainna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

37:106 For this was obviously a trial-
Inna hatha lahuwa albalaoalmubeenu

37:107 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice:
Wafadaynahu bithibhinAAatheemin

37:108 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times:
Watarakna AAalayhi fee al-akhireena

37:109 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!"
Salamun AAala ibraheema

37:110 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
Kathalika najzee almuhsineena

37:111 For he was one of our believing Servants.
Innahu min AAibadinaalmu/mineena

37:112 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous.
Wabashsharnahu bi-ishaqanabiyyan mina alssaliheena

37:113 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls.
Wabarakna AAalayhi waAAalaishaqa wamin thurriyyatihima muhsinunwathalimun linafsihi mubeenun

37:114 Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron,
Walaqad mananna AAala moosawaharoona

37:115 And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity;
Wanajjaynahuma waqawmahumamina alkarbi alAAatheemi

37:116 And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles);
Wanasarnahum fakanoohumu alghalibeena

37:117 And We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear;
Waataynahuma alkitabaalmustabeena

37:118 And We guided them to the Straight Way.
Wahadaynahuma alssirataalmustaqeema

37:119 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times:
Watarakna AAalayhima fee al-akhireena

37:120 "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!"
Salamun AAala moosawaharoona

37:121 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena

37:122 For they were two of our believing Servants.
Innahuma min AAibadinaalmu/mineena

37:123 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us).
Wa-inna ilyasa lamina almursaleena

37:124 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
Ith qala liqawmihi alatattaqoona

37:126 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?"
Allaha rabbakum warabba aba-ikumual-awwaleena

37:127 But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment),-
Fakaththaboohu fa-innahum lamuhdaroona

37:128 Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them).
Illa AAibada Allahialmukhlaseena

37:129 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times:
Watarakna AAalayhi fee al-akhireena

37:130 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!"
Salamun AAala il yaseena

A 'true' story:

THE FISH WHO ALMOST EVOLVED MORE On the road to Kingston, NY, last summer, I was happy to see that the rains had returned and that the drought was ending. I stopped to do a little fishing along the way, and it reminded me of a fish I’d caught during the dry season. I’ll tell you about it now. It took me awhile to get over it.

It was so dry that I could walk across the reservoir and the creeks. The water was shallow, due to the drought, and most of the fish were swimming sideways so they could stay under water. Then I saw a rather amazing sight: one fish was even leaping from puddle to puddle, sometimes crawling across the dry land in between. I threw away my fishing pole and caught this fish with my bare hands, thinking of the delicious fish fry dinner that I would have that night.

I put the fish in a bucket of water in the front seat of my car to keep it fresh during the long drive home. Every so often that fish would poke its head out of the water bucket and look at me, sometimes even trying to jump out. Finally, it did get out of the bucket and sat on the seat next to me. It was then that I realized that I could never eat this fish.

About the same time, a brilliant idea stuck me: I would train this fish to live out of water, and make a pet out of it, as the fish seemed to already have inclinations in that direction. At home I put the fish in a barrel of water, and sure enough, it tried to jump out. So, each morning I would take it out and put it on the grass, which was still wet from the dew. Then, when I could see that it had had enough, I would put it back in the barrel. Each day the fish seemed to last longer and longer outside the water barrel before getting listless. After a few months of this, the fish didn’t need much water at all; as I walked along the road in the morning, it would wriggle along beside me in the wet grass in the shade. Later, when the day became really hot, I would give the fish a drink from my water jug.

After a few more months of training, the fish was able to flop and sort of ‘swim’ along down the middle of dusty roads. And when I offered it a drink, it refused! We even went to the beach together; of course; only I went swimming—the fish just laid on the sand, getting a tan and enjoying the breeze. One day it was over 120 degrees and the fish just had to have a drink, so I gave it a dry beer. Other than that, the fish never touched water anymore, having become a land animal. What a lovable pet! it slept with me, saw movies with me, went out to parties with me, chased down tennis balls and brought them back to me, rode on the back of my bike, etc., we were inseparable!

But then a tragedy happened: we were walking down the road together one day, and passing over an old bridge; suddenly my fish fell between some loose boards and on down into the creek below and drowned.

There are only 2 ways for pair production to make particles, necessarily out of nothing, for there's nothing to make stuff out of. Thus, no God.

Yes, honesty is used, not fabrication. The religious are not honest; they preach wishes as fact and truth, even to innocents.
