like say...Religion?
I was thinking more along the lines of hunger, poverty, homelessness, education
like say...Religion?
Well, not religion in general, just Islam.like say...Religion?
It was recently enough that it happened within my lifetime. I think it was in the 1970s. They came to the brink of war over their claims to Cyprus.Greece, Turkey, maintain influence with both? and when was the last time that there was a conflict between these countries?
So you think a nation should agree on something that would harm and/or destroy their own economy? Would India do such a thing?
The question was not what you personally think about it, but rather how your country would react. Of course most of us are noble humanitarians who regard the whole world as our nation, but we live in countries that are full of voters like Max who don't feel that way, and are governed by rulers who generally don't give a damn how we feel anyway.I think some things are too important to consider profit first.

Maybe because everyone who disagrees with you is a gun nut whose opinion is based on the culture of fear instituted and exported by America?Instead of listening to the message and considering, you prefer to attack the messenger. I mean, look at this
Ignoratio elenchi; I think. That has nothing to do with civillian gun laws within any individual country. So what do you think of the US arming insurgents/dictators in conflict ridden places worldwide?
Especially its practice of arming both sides?

Don't you have to have a good economy if you're going to make sure those things don't happen in your own country, or even to help others?
obesity is a disease. It might spread.
I'm against banning guns..wtf, why make law abiding citizens defenseless to those who illegally obtain guns? If you're a criminal would you rob a place where people have guns or a place where people have no guns and are completely defenseless to you? Exactly. Banning guns is one of the most foolish liberal ideals I've ever heard, it assumes that everyone will obey the law and that even criminals will have no guns...ROFL It doesn't make sense, and it also doesn't work...look at DC and Chicago which have/had hand gun bans, it didn't work at all, DC only recently lifted its handgun ban, most people couldn't even ever tell that handguns were illegal there...A quick poll of sciforums members.
Please answer whether you are for or against the following specific measures:
- Ban all automatic weapons from private ownership.
- Require the registration of ownership of all guns and ammunition.
- Require a licence to own a gun privately.
- Require cause to be shown to obtain a gun licence (e.g. farmers, members of shooting clubs).
That will do for the purposes of this poll.
If you disagree with any of the above measures, vote disagree. If you agree in principle (even if you think certain details might need tweaking) vote agree.
When a third of your population is obese, is that a good time to be ignoring hunger in other places?

Another school shooting has just occurred in Cleveland:

Is this supposed to make us believe that your liberal socialist ideal of "banning guns" is favorable?
It certainly doesnt help the idea that everyone should be able to own a gun.
Why not? I don't understand why you think banning guns would solve the problem as explained in my previous post...
Take Switzerland for instance, which has a very high gun ownership rate, it has less gun crimes then other countries like England with very strict gun laws
Socialism doesn't work, it never has
I dont think that guns should be banned as per my previous posts, I do however think that the more times a kid hauls off and kills or injures his classmates makes it more likely that we will start to see serious restrictions on gun ownership. I mean you can only see so many dead and crying highschool students before you step up and do something.
Well it might, but the personal responsibility should be placed upon the schools to make the school a safe place for all students
Just like the personal responsibility of a parent to make sure that their kids wear helmets...wait its a law now, because enough people got hurt not wearing. It will be the same for guns if this keeps up.
