Guess what this is.!!!

I'm studying med, so it wouldn't be fair for me to answer, but I'm giving more clues.
It's not an obscure tool.
Biology students should also be familiar with it, unless they use the type where the functional section is not disposable, or a type where the whole item is disposable, handle and all.

Hooray!

ok.

the last one was good.

this is a piece of something larger...much larger. If you get it you have to guess which one. should be pretty easy though.

Well, I reckon you astronomy lads have got the run on this one then. It doesn't look like the crab Nebula to me, which is one of the few I'm fairly familliar with..

Hmm... definitely a nebula.
It reminds me of the Cats-Eye nebula, but I don't think that's it?

A star from the Orion constellation.

Alpha Centauri?

I'm not so sure about astronomy so maybe you guys pinpointed it but i dont think so.

Fantastic photo. You can count about 6 detonations!

yes, it certainly is fantastic.

Pete is on the right track with a nebula so its just a process of elimination. this is not NGC 6543 though.

to give another clue, it has a scientific name NGC xxx and three common names. the color is enhanced and you may see images with more blue in it.
