Genetic modification: fear it! fear it like THE BOMB!

paulsamuel,

obviously you have no sense of homer, perhaps you would like to explain to me how I live in a jar filled with embryonic fluids, maintain my virile youth, and communicate via internet? I can think of several more realistic ways that can be done today, but they involve alien technology.

Stem cells is one thing of course, but to make a uterus is something else.

but let's start with the beginning.

What kind of stem cell would you use for instance?

spuriousmonkey it was a joke! paulsamuel I can take but you I cannot :( , No stem cells for making a uterine lining, sense feeding a uterine line to feed me would be redundant, I could have been aborted from a real one then places here in this jar with my umbilical cored hook up to a artificial lungs and dialysis machine, if my brain was developed enough cybernetic implants would allow me to communicate through a computer.

The science will be exploited and abused, just as was the atom. Fifty years from now they will be cleaning our mess.

As far as cleaning up messes I heard about bacteria that are being developed for cleaning up oil spills and stuff like that.

Some also already exist.:)

Im not sure if they would harm nature.

But I think there are areas in the Gulf of Mexico where small amounts of oil bubble up from the sea bottom and thats where the natural oil eating bacteria come from.

Goggle "bacteria toxic waste" you will be amazed at some of the recent discoveries, including a bacteria that eats vinly chloride and another one that turns perchlorate into salt. Vinly chloride and perchlorate currently pose the biggest threat to our ground water.

It would be good to return ground water to its natural cleaness.

To many areas of ground water are polluted and they should be usable.

Ground water is about the cleanest water you can find when its in its non polluted natual state.

Also there could be creatures that live in the ground water that we don't know about that could become extinct before they are even discovered.

I say clean the ground water!:)

PS: Technically ground water would be called an aquifer.:)
