You must be a Jew to come up with such statements , Remember Jashua was a Jew and the beginning of Christianity was among Jews .
Jashua was against the establishment that was the reason they got away Him ( eliminated ) and so now . Jews do not want to admit His existence to reduce the assimilation with the goyim, nor accept Him

You can't prove it using the tools of history because there is no independent corroborating evidence for it and it was only reported by "insiders". And, there are no resurrection stories at all, only vague and contradictory appearance stories.

It is a matter of faith, and the faith of millions is the proof.

If the greatest event in human "history" could be verified in any reasonable way, it would certainly be mentioned in every history text.

Are you reading the same thread I'm reading? These have already been discussed. Luke was an associate of Paul. Neither of them ever met Jesus. At best these were second hand accounts.

We are reading the same thing .

The point is they met the people who walked with Jeshua . Luke describes very well some activity of some apostles . The question is is Luke not telling the truth of the apostles who described the ascension are they telling the truth ? If they are not telling the truth then the whole Christianity is a lie .

Look I believe a search can be made both ways , to prove or to disproof and specially when have passed over 2000 years.

And you're entitled to your beliefs. I'm not here to change your mind, I'm here to discuss what people believe and why.

If you believe a book written at least 40 years (maybe more) after the event by a person who never knew the central character is accurate, who am I to dissuade you?

But, if you ask me, it seems like a pretty sloppy and haphazard way for god to get his message across.

Let me give an example : In our time it happened , JFK. got killed by L.H.Osweld , do you believe Oswald killed him or some one other .. there are other who claim it was not Oswald ?

Beside , in many situation the government want us to believe in certain way and the hush some possible social division.
I believe That was done in Jeshuas time . He was an outspoken individual against the system. so they hushed Him down and so attempted to quied down the movement . But as some in the court said ( Gamaliel ) " If is not from God it will die out , but if it is from God is going to live " So 2000 years later is alive .

But people could and did write. We have books from that time and before. Homer is around 1,000 before that and we still have his works. So, is Homer of God? Should we believe in Zeus and Apollo too?

It is a choice of the individual spirituality.
We can get before that , to Sumerian gods , again it is a choice . In those time polytheism very common.
As for me . I go to Abraham's time were his father was a god maker, Abraham chose not to follow his father belief, and searched for the Creator of the universe , and this is were we are.
The case of Jashua is not to follow the institutional religion , and that appeals to me.
