The media seems to be saying, inadvertently, that testing in itself is a way of reducing the spread.
It is unfortunate that the emphasis appears to be shifted from social distancing regardless of the testing regime in place to just testing.
News from the USA suggests a similar error in messaging.
ie: "schools can go back, don't worry we will be testing." suggests a fundamental lack of understanding that it is only when student(s) tests positive that we should be worrying.

I don't disagree, but... Vociferous doesn't really provide much room for alternate responses when he pulls that crap. I mean, the only alternative way to respond is to ignore. Neither is productive nor furthers the discussion, but there's always hope (I guess) that he'll discover the futility of such an approach and reconfigure.
