Atheism is a belief.

I know how to use a dictionary.

Hmm so far I have figured out that "prana" is Sanskrit for "breath" and comes from Hinduism.
It apparently is something similar as the Chinese Qi. So I assume it is life force.
If this is how he meant it, he has got more to explain.. lol
I still can't place "nic" though..
I believe he was making (or coining, perhaps is more accurate) an adjective form of the word.

I didn't respond to it because it does nothing. It does not even relate to the statement I made. If anything, it reinforces it.

You say that, but then you say this;

Furthermore those 2 statements of yours being EQUAL is logically invalid. Why would I respond to nonsense?

Nonsense, exactly! All I did was rephrase your nonsense of;

lixluke said:
A lack of belief in God = The belief there is no God

with

"I do not believe I will win the lottery this weekend = I do not believe there is a lottery I can win."

You see that my rephrasing of your statement is illogical, but then do not apply the same logic to your own statement.

Anyway, you seem to not grasp the meaning of the word 'atheist'. We've done this to death, atheism is a null position, not a positive one. Your argument fails from the start because you fail to recognise this.

Enmos, pls restate the question. Are you asking about loving nature or what I meant by prana-nic?

Try this one;

NOT

Are you really that dishonest that you focus on the negated verb as if that proves a positive?

This has been done to death, yet still too many people do not grasp the simplest of ideas; atheism is NOT a belief.

Dishonest? :wtf:

If I went to the lenghts that many on this thread have gone to avoid a question the atheist philosopher types would rip on me to no end.:bugeye:

Are you really that afraid of taking a position.

Also, it's not that I think:
the negated verb as if that proves a positive?
It's that I think:
atheism is NOT a belief.
is a bullshit cop-out.
There. Is that honest enough?

I think y'all are lying to yourselves.

I was making (or coining, perhaps is more accurate) an adjective form of the word.
Oh... jeez sorry. Now I get it :bugeye: lol

However I don't know enough about prana. You used it to "define" a lifeless/dead universe. How did you mean that ?
Sorry to ask all these question man.. :eek:

The only truly logical and defendable position one can take on the "god issue"
Any other is BELIEF ;)

So agnosticism is not a belief ?
I don't see how atheism differs much from agnosticism other then in gradation.

I think just lack imagination, or are insecure in some way.

Why do you think we have to be denying something? Does that idea make you feel better, somehow?

Long answer. I think. Later, gotta sleep now. it's 4:30 am here in bum-fuck Nebraska, USA

Tht1Gy!, what if I told you that my cousin has three heads ?
Would you believe that ?
Would you not believe that ?
Would you believe that it is not so ?
Or would you be agnostic about it ?

Edit: Goodnight :)

Here's the funny part, agnosticism is actually a viewpoint on theism, whereas atheism is simply a lack of belief in god. Seems th1sguy isn't aware of the very basic definitions.

Agnosticism is often seen as an apologetic term, some kind of grey area of quasi belief, an appeasement, if you will. But actually it's a decision that the truth is unknown, or unknowable. Agnosticism is a statement, atheism isn't.

Yup correct, but that is to the outside world. I have a hunch agnostics are actually atheists that are unsure of themselves or feel threatened by the theistic majority.
