A future without gender

Separate genders I would argue is the single issue holding us back. Think how we overcomed our roles as we evolved, from swimmer to flier to land predator with claws. We can do all of those now as the generic species. The last role is that of male versus female.

it's natural for us to have genders, i have a question
1 on a scale of 1-10 how much of a nerd/geek are you?
2 why does it bother you to have female and males
3 do you have a sexual disorder?

Scale of 1-10? Just think about how wrong that question is!

DUDE..i mean dude....ddduuuuddddddeeeeee:D

Having one gender will be really , really damn boring. Good lord could you imagine sleping with the same gender as you if you're not gay...(nothing against gay people). If we all are the same gender than reproducing will be a turmoil because that would mean anybody can reproduce instead of half the population. At the rate men mastrubate the planet will cave under it's own weight because every time they wax the johnson they would be at risk of impregnating themselves.

Women are best thing to happen to men...they are beautiful and wonderfull...embrace what you got dude ;)

actually it is no gender. you are neither male or female. you are sexless

Yeah, that's the idea. Basically everyone would be a eunuch.

no, even a eunuch has sex stuff inside (and strictly speaking it is a him)
the scenario would be.... no chromosomes that produce a sex??

what would reproduction be like? cloning? cell division? perhaps a model could be found in simpler life forms (my bio is very rusty)

Humans have evolved to be 2 separate genders. The reason they have evolved to what they are today is because of gender. Gender and sex is what’s driving us forward as a species, not holding us back. Although we have the capability to ultimately destroy our species, EVOLUTION will dictate how we survive. We can force or sway human evolution in a certain direction different than what nature intends but that path will ultimately lead to our destruction. We are seeing that when we tilt the balance of nature, all life starts to crumble.

oh cmon! that stuff sound positively religious. if you wanna maintain your stance, gimme examples for all your points

thanks

Yes, 2 separate genders appears to have worked well. But nature is just randomness almost--there's no reason to treat it as an infallible oracle. We can and will change and design ourselves.

Yeah you pretty much got it. In the course of other major modifications (turn off cancer, get rid of appendix), it's just a matter of designing just an opening for peeing.

Taking out the sex chromosomes would actually make DNA much more elegant. Even XX (females) have to shut off most of one of the X's. Reproduction would probably be cloning with modifications. Work has even been done on artificial wombs. The body won't need any of that anymore.

what about genetic diversity? asexual reproduction doesnt do much for that. how do we get around that? of course i could be mistakenly giving too much importance to this. perhaps it is overated. perhaps nurture is the major factor

A recent French study suggests that there has been a slight decline in human sperm counts in every year that it has been carefully documented. Speculation on the reasons for the decline has raised questions about the effect of environmental toxins, estrogen-fed beet, or even statistical bias in studies due to geographic differences in sperm production rates among different populations of men.

It is very clear, however, that sperm production is genetically controlled, and that humans are genetically programmed to have a declining sperm count

what the hell is that? we are programmed to die off as species?

The human male is known to have the worst sperm count of any mammalian species, with the exception of the gorilla, possibly because the fragile location of these sperm production genes lies on the Y chromosome. The process of recombination "repairs" chromosomes. Since genes on the Y do not recombine, the chromosome degenerates. Thus, the Y chromosome--which makes the male a male--deteriorates with each succeeding generation. It is not a very safe place for sperm production genes.

What might be the future of human reproduction?

Without identifying physical characteristics, the distinction between heterosexual and homosexual would cease to exist._ In fact, whom would be attracted to whom and how they would or could possibly consummate such an attraction is a huge and baffling mystery, admitting of much fanciful speculation, but no answers.

We can look at how current intentional-but-genderless entities get attracted to each other, form unions and produce offspring. Look at corporations, research groups, and communities. (Also, memetic evolution, genetic algorithms, etc.) It's all there already, with all purposes - economy, exploration, and fun. One can still find analogies with sexual reproduction here in terms of gender, courting, intercourse, birth, and child raising, but I believe there are certain limits beyond which such analogies shouldn't be stretched. Interestingly enough, most of intentional reproduction is already non-sexual, and sex is no longer necessary for even its original purpose - to produce human offspring._ It will probably be considered reckless in the near future, to produce children by blind combinations of genes, without first running the new DNA through at least a medical check-up. So it looks like sex and genders have a very limited future.

A "student" or prospective "child" of a Member of the Level Above Human can, with the help of his Older Member(s) from that Kingdom Level, overcome or rise out of all human-mammalian behavior - sexuality and gender consciousness - and all other addictions and ties of the human kingdom. Older Members, as experienced "clinicians," are necessary to take souls through this "weaning" - this difficult "withdrawal" from humanness and binding "misinformation" concepts. The student must complete this change to the point of abhorring human behavior before his soul can become a "match" with a biological body of the true Kingdom of God - for that new, genderless body is designed to function at a far more refined level.

you guys have real serious issues......if you think that asexual reproduction will be better...while you guys split into ill atleast be normal...
