why we need ghosts

I find it hard to believe anyone could watch X-files and take any of it seriously.
There are people who think the climate isn't changing, that the Earth is flat, that we never went to the Moon, that George Bush orchestrated 9/11 and that Qanon is real. So it's not hard for me to believe that there are such people out there.

I agree with everything you said except for the Earth not being flat.

It's flat. They want to you think that it's globe shaped but they know it's not.

Have you seen the lengths people have gone to explain why it's really flat? They even have ways to "prove" that what military pilots (flying at very high altitudes) see is an optical illusion. I thought it was a big put-on for a while, but no - there are people who really, honestly believe that.

Idiocracy indeed.

I guess they are just "free thinkers" and the world have always discounted those. One day they are going to figure out dark matter too, yes..he he. Does Quantum Quake acknowledge that the world isn't flat?

kevin78: Welcome to sciforums.
Thank you.
This is discussion forum that at least nods its head towards science and the scientific method. It is not a blog where you merely share your "likes".
Necessarily, this means that when we're discussing topics that are amenable to evidence-based discussion, that is the kind of discussion that is encouraged.
Moreover, mindless cut-and-paste re-blogging of youtube videos and the like is not conducive to intelligent discussion, especially where that occurs without any thought, commentary, or critical analysis.
It seems everthing is okay then. There's no one excusing themself from those rules here, is there? If there is, why are they allowed to?

Silly, in my case is enough, since silly to me is an idea with no evidence.
I didn't say that it makes a lot of sense to me to believe in ghosts. It makes a lot of sense to not believe in God. Sure, it brings up the question, "why do you believe in ghosts?" but that's up to him.
I don't see any evidence for either and to believe in either of them is silly for that reason.
Would you like to see universities researching into ghosts to find this evidence?
I wonder where they would start? I'm sure there must be ''interested'' millionaires out there. Is this a silly idea to you?

How does it look fake? It looks totally real to me.
Thing is, there is no evidence of an explanation here, only evidence of an event.
We see a banging door; we all agree on that.
We do not see anything else that can be used to differentiate the cause.
We can postulate what is plausible and what is not but, as is apparent, one man's plausible is another man's preposterous.

Thank you.
