BUT my final point is this. In whichever state you are living in there are things you have to do, Laws you have to obey, that you won't agree with. However those laws will only be their if the majority of the people(and those in power) don't have a problem with it.

Ah, but that is the problem. Because laws aren't necessarily good for the common masses. A lot of laws are ridiculous. For instance, you cannot shoot at whales from a moving car in Tennessee. A woman cannot drive in the streets of alabama without a man walking in front of the car waving a red flag. Point being, not all laws make sense. And not all are passed because the majority didn't have a "problem" with it.
