What to do with teenager secret and illegal stuff?

Let's say you discover your teenagers' illegal although not too serious substance's (beer, weed) hidding place.

Well obviously we need to talk about effectively hiding stuff. Also I would make sure they are getting quality stuff at a decent price and know how to use it effectively. We'd then break out the bong and go over which drugs are dangerous and why, like religion, booze and tobacco, and which aren't like pot and caffeine. Then we'd eat ding dongs and laugh hysterically while finger painting.

Good point. They deserve the suff to be confiscated just because it was hidden clumsily. Also a possibility that it is not my kids, but since they use that place like anyone else, they could discover it and then use it, so taking it away is good prevention.

I would automatically assume it belonged to my kid so I would call the DEA and have it arrested and hopefully banged up for life.

Scenario:

Let's say you discover your teenagers' illegal although not too serious substance's (beer, weed) hidding place. (not cocaine or automatic weapons)They don't know you know it and it is in a community place outside where everyone could get to it. Although there is a little ambiguity about the "ownership" of the stuff, there is a good chance it is your kids' and friends'.

1. Do you remove it or just monitor it?

2. If you remove it, do you tell them it was you? They might get pissed. :)

3. Do you confront them about it? What if they weren't the ones hidding it?

4. Let's say it is not your kids'. Do you still have the right to mess with it? (it is in a community place) Hey, you might could use it!

well whoever stashes beer outside is an idiot. But if you found a stash of weed, keep it for yourself!!!

The people exist for the government.

That an incredibly stupid thing to say. It is exactly the opposite, the government is/should be for the people.

Not to mention there are 100s of stupid, unrespectable laws...

The government creates the laws, the laws are to be followed, citizens are to abide to the laws without question.

I'd have a nice conversation with them about weed, beer etc., to just see what they have to say about those substances and how they now view them. By not disclosing that you know about their stash, you will allow them to be honest with you first if they want to be.

Yeah, totally.

It's different if it's child porn or something like that.
