Dunno, I've never studied the porn industry, or porn, that much...
The only thing I've heard is that gay porn actors began using safer sex years ago, whereas hetero actors were neither encouraged or required to use protection until much later in most instances.
Besides helping to promote the idea that unprotected sex with someone you don't know well is a good idea...the porn actors were put at risk themselves, and became infected.

The very first claim seems bogus.

I don't believe that 12 is the AVERAGE age of entry into porn and prostitution, other claims, like 1 in 5 porn images are of a child seem equally unlikely.
Child porn is largely illegal and thus its disemination is somewhat limited as sending, owning or making of it is a crime.
On the other hand, the legal porn industry is HUGE, almost beyond belief, so to think that 20% of porn is child porn I find highly unlikely.
And of course it also makes me wonder where someone could possibly come up with these figures, since the total number of porn images is not likely a number anyone even knows.

All valid points. It reminds me of the homeless numbers that the outfit pimping for homeless people made up to raise money. No way to check their facts. The media picks it up and repeats it and exaggerates it further and it becomes an accepted "fact." Then Clinton gets elected and no more homeless problem. Odd. Did they actually move into Clinton's old house when he moved?

Well, the numbers are murky there...are you homeless if you're couch-surfing? Living with a relative who may throw you out? living in your car?
Besides that, a lot of people who become temporarily homeless are a bit embarrassed about it. It's the hardcore derelicts you'll notice...
The tidy ones with their stuff in a storage unit...which they sneak into as well at night...technically, they even have shelter!
Or the cars full of clothes?
So, hard to get demographics on the population...but Slick WiIlie did nothing to fix the homeless problem, it got worse.

See...I think that...then I think that a lot of them are just re-enacting what was done to them.

Does not excuse it, no...the damage to the kids are just the same whether they are tortured souls or jolly demons.

But...it seems like some of them might be salvageable as humans. Therefore my sense of ethics would require trying.

Let's nip this thing in the butt once and for all. If the perp. couldn't do damage control, we must quarantine the damage to eventually root out and get rid of this "disease" in society. I mostly never said that in the thread, you must have hopped in at the end.

My sense of ethics would ordinarily require me to try rehabbing them somehow.

My gut instinct and deep desire is to give each one of them a very slow, creative, and painful death.
My frosted side would really enjoy doing that, not sure about my flaky side, it doesn't like screaming as much.
