Quiz Time Again.

We did this quiz last year, but most current posters are different to that time, and I think the quiz is slightly different.

Please take the quiz and post your results, and of course make any comments about the quiz that you wish.

My results are shown below. I guess I must change my label, I'm now a Secular Humanist, and dang, last time I was an atheist. And sorry Tony1, I know you at one time thought I was a Hindu but that comes in last.

But I just don't get the Christian Science or the Liberal Protestant. Well, the LibPro, yes, since I was raised by Holiday Lutherans. But so goes ....

Blonde_Cupid a.k.a. The Orthodox Quaker

My apologies to any Orthodox Quakers out there, but I never expected to come under such an umbrella. Truthfully, I don't know a whole lot about that faith but after this I will surely do some research on the subject.

No surprises.

Counterbalance

Nope, I never said I was Pentecostal...said I had my first REAL, personall experience with God in one. I was also schooled in a Methodist church and Baptised in a Baptist church. Truth be known I am not a current member of any "physicall" church. I will also say I have learned respect for many people of these and other unlisted denominations. I don't see a lable as being important, but the kind of person someone is and what reverence and good comes from their practices.

Taken

A breakdown of the top 10 for you, because it doesn't make much sense to me ;)

Of the Unitarian Universalism, I only tend to disagree because Unitarians tend toward the Christianization of Deism. However, I'm proud to be pseudo-associated, as such, with something so strangely and gently made fun of in the culture as Unitarianism. It makes me grin to have one more Unitarian joke in the arsenal that makes no sense whatsoever.

The Liberal Protestant doesn't surprise me. My family is, technically, Lutheran, which makes them Protestant. They are, quite technically, holiday Christians at best, so that makes them sort of liberal in their faith. Rather, they were in days gone by. Don't ask me about Christmas in my family; it's immoral at best, and quite possibly accidentally evil. But, like much of the American culture, the family religion has no real basis. The only surprising aspect is its strong placing in my survey.

Liberal Quaker makes me smile: the Society of Friends gets a Free Pass from Tiassa. They've been nothing but kind over the years, and seem smarter than the ... for lack of better ... "average" Christian. Should something ever reduce me to Christianity, I would hope to land somewhere among the Quakers.

Christian Science ... I don't know, you tell me. Anyone tell me. I haven't a clue what this means, where it comes from, or how the survey reached this conclusion.

By the time we get to Neo-Paganism, we're suddenly at number five. Strange that my adopted religious refuge should place so low among the strong influences. To the other, we're still at a 91% compatibility rating, however that's based. Curious, though, that I'm dragging the 90th percentile out to the fifth spot. Not sure what it means. But after a superstition-bound brush with Satanism, I eventually drifted through a sequence of, well, neo-paganistic, neo-cabalistic, neo-supercalifragilistic ... yeah. But Neo-Paganism should place strongly.

I get along with the New Age, and would rather not discuss it. It's a poorly-represented movement made up of reasonably good people. But that poor representation is their own damn fault, so ... yeah.

I'm frequently accused of [i}Secular Humanism[/i], but have never formally studied the idea. It's kind of like martial arts. I've found that most people simply assume I know some martial art and choose not to screw with me: I have no idea what this is based upon, but since it keeps me from having to actually get in a fight, I try not to beat the gift fish with a trailer hitch.

New Thought ... I know I've heard the term before, in this formalized context. But I'm presently looking it at the same website and nothing really rings a bell. I'll have to search my library to figure out how I'm familiar with the movement.

Scientology? This only goes to prove their church is a racket. In the ninth slot, I'm showing a 74% compatibility to this paradigm, by whatever measure I still don't understand. You've got to be kidding me. I'm not so much offended to be compared to a church that, inasmuch as I can tell, is a racket, but if someone as goofy as me is that compatible with this religion, then you ought to know it's a strange, strange paradigm. I don't get its inclusion in the top 10.

And I couldn't at present tell you a lick about Baha'i, except that I can't recall ever really coming across it other than as a word in society. I would imagine that this, like the Scientology, is a statistical match based on the more political questions of the survey.

But that's two cents a pop on the curious top 10 of my survey result. I have no idea how it came to rank stronger Christian influences to me than you. Herein we might pause to consider the generalizations of the survey and the bases thereof. It might be that the authors of the survey have vastly different definitions of Christian sects than you or I, and vastly different criteria compelling them to those conclusions.

I'm curious, Taken, at your own opinion of your top 10. That's an interesting result for someone what we've learned of you in your posts.

thanx,
Tiassa

LOL to tell the truth of my top ten...5 of them I am just vaugley familiar with, 2 of them I have only heard of..and the other 3..I have no clue what so ever! I found it odd myself...but since I am unfamiliar with many of them I reserve any judgement about my being associated with them. I noticed, however, that of all the posts so far, Protestant is the one that seems to be commonly near the top for all of us.
I live in the Bible Belt, so it is little mystery which denominations would have been most influencing in my life. I guess I am just happy being labeled a Christian...I figure in the true Spirit of God, no other subdivision should be neccesary. The Bible says that if you believe something to be a sin than it is a sin for you, and if not than it is not. We each have to live with and under our own convictions. They are personall to each of us. I guess denominations to me are just groups of people with similar convictions trying to seperating themselves. The basic truths of being true to those convictions, haveing love for your fellow man, trying to do good and not destroying each other and loveing God are the points that should not differ among Christians.

I'm not surprised by Taken's results. Me and Tony have been pointing out his diversions from Christian doctrine since he got here. I'm more surprised he doesn't know where they came from.

Going through the test I have a pretty good idea which answer goes with what religion.

Ben

LOL You and Tony can't discern between a man and a woman so I am hardly moved by your ability to discern a persons private thoughts or convictions.

It is, I suppose, a matter of perception

Me and Tony have been pointing out his diversions from Christian doctrine since he got here
If that seems an odd thing to say it's because I haven't really noticed. Really, KalvinB, when you whine and complain as much as you and Tony1 do while having so little to say, we generally tend to miss a few of those points because they sound like everything else. It isn't that you don't have anything important to say, for we know that you, at least, have some coherent opinions. But, rather, we missed these particular bitches of yours amid the cacophony of lament coming from your corner. If you're pointing out that Taken isn't Christian enough for your palate, what sets that apart from any other day or any other poster?

"Me and Tony ...." That's kind of a chuckle, KalvinB. There's the only pairing where you could throw your brain in with another person's and still come up short of a single complete unit.

Even though it's premature, all things considered, I might as well skip this part of the movie and get straight to the scene where I ask you how seriously you expect us to take you.

Well?

* * * * *

If you're not surprised by Taken's result, then are you surprised at mine? To the point: should I include you as an advocate of Tony1's anti-Catholic bender? On the one hand, you hold the survey up as reinforcement of your perspicacity (Taken, while ignoring the fact that my own lowest score was Roman Catholic, which puts a serious dent in Tony1's assessment of my Catholocism. Rather, that dent only occurs if you consider the survey accurate enough to justify the condemning spite that you share with Tony1 toward other people's faith and ideas.

* * * * *

I wonder if we're going to see Tony1's survey results ....

thanx,
Tiassa

I hope I misread the post tiassa, for I certainly never intended to spitefully condemn anyones faith..or beliefs. My apologys to anyone who feels I have.

Taken, I'm quite sure there's some misunderstanding

You're doing fine insofar as I can tell. I think I see the point of departure; re-read the post and regard the boldfaced names as highlights of people's names and not direct addresses to that person. But I'm quite sure there's just a misunderstanding.

thanx,
Tiassa

You preach Catholicism more than you practice it.

You believe God's word much less than tiassa does, and he doesn't believe it at all.

We're not trying to discern any private ones.
It's the public ones, you know, the ones you write down, that we are dealing with.

You preach Catholicism, but I doubt very much whether you practice anything other than toking.
It's somewhat like you quoting the Bible; you don't believe a word of it, but you're hoping that someone will get sucked in by your "point."
