The main problem is that High School in the UK is between the ages of 12-16 and then there can be 6-Form prior to Higher Education levels. High school in the US potentially (sorry I don't know) has a different age range and overall meaning.

So you have a 101 naming conventions for nearly the same thing and of course a number of different diploma's/cert's (swimming certificate anyone?)

Obviously I'll have to recreate this poll shortly, but suggestions on it's formatting to deal with an international audience are of course asked for.

I've finished my master last year and just starting my PhD this month. Hope to get some luck!

I put them forwards as potential new polls, I haven't started them yet as they are going to need a bit of development in regards to the questions being asked and because they are "Controversial". As for the "How id you first find sciforums?" ... it's not really something that can easily be done with a multiple choice poll :(

My highest level of education right now is UNDERGRAD. I'm currently a junior, completing my B.S. in Biology. Overall I feel like university level courses just sabotaged my ass (especially Chemistry).

Well 1 opton shud cover how i fount this forum... i was lookin for informaton on the internet (about the moon) an the Google search engine ponted to this forum.!!!

Since this can change, this means the poll itself is a difficult one to have running for too long. So with that in mind, I'm setting the closure of this poll for 6 months time, by which time this poll will either be long forgotten or a new poll will be submitted.

The "Abstain" vote has been added for those that don't want to participate but want to aid in identifying how many people at least view the poll. The poll itself is anonymous, so you won't be persecuted for voting.

(I will randomly seed a number to the poll votes and subtract them after enough votes have been made so the actual votes are concealed.)

I'm pretty sure you misused "i.e." in your poll. Maybe an e.g.? I don't know what either of those mean, but I think you didn't use it right. Anyways, I voted high school education. Hopes that doesn't throw off some results, maybe I should've voted abstain, that'd've'de more sense.

What is your current highest level of Education?

I believe the question is redundant for one thing. Highest level and current level are the same thing. Sorry Stryder but my guard goes up when a question about smarts is asked in such a fashion.

University gave me just enough to get started, but life has taught me more. IOW having a degree, and having a degree with years of field experience are two different things. In no way are they equal.

Then it should be:

1. school
2. high school
3. vocational college/diploma
4. undergraduate
5. graduate
6. postgraduate

Agreed. I would vote 3, but I am not pursuing further - as a student of filmaking and animation, studio jobs and projects are more important in my field that are certificates and qualifications. To make up for this, I study by lectures and books, all pirated of course.
