What is The Donald doing?

You have seen the references, they all say The Donald does not shake hands. That does not mean that at some time in the past he did shake hands.
Trump talks about this in his books, most of which I have read.

He shakes hands all the time but he doesnt like it...because he admits to being obsessive compulsive. He's put it in writing that he hopes not to end up like Howard Hughes, who was an even more obsessive clean freak.

In Trump Tower for example the elevator carpets are vacuumed three times a day!!!

He prefers the Japanese system of bowing...rather than spreading germs through physical contact.

I can totally understand Trump though.
I also hate shaking hands and I always wash them immediately afterwards. Generally people have nasty habits. Sticking fingers in the nose, not washing after restroom visits, etc.
Trump has my full support in this (and probably only this).

Trump tells several funny stories in his books about his germ phobia.

He particularly doesnt like shaking hands with plumbers...for obvious reasons.

It's still pretty early on, but my guess is that Trump is trying to drum up even more media attention because he thinks it will result in more opportunities to make a buck.

It really is a no loose situation for him. He gets more free media attention regardless of what happens. I have read articles that report the NBC executives who book The Donald's show don't take The Donald's bid for POTUS seriously. They think it is "The Donald being The Donald". I believe NBC is supposed to annouce its fall line up in May.

He gets media attention, but lately he's been pretty critical of Obama. Criticizing politicians could alienate his potential audience, since most people in this country generally identify with either the GOP or Democrats.

Is Donald Trump (AKA The Donald) serious about running for president or is he up to something else? Trump used to be a Democrat and is a recent new comer to the Republican Party only switching his registration in 2009.

Is the Donald just playing a big joke? Will he one day wake up and tell his birther followers, I was just playing you guys for the saps you are? This man is 65 years old. How many 65 year olds are still deciding and flip flopping on major issues? If one is to believe Trump, he is.

So just what is up with Trump? Is he serious about running for POTUS or is it all a big joke? Is The Donald playing the Republican/Tea Partiers for fools? Personally, I think that is exactly what he is doing.

Donald is disarming the republican party. He is a secret supporter of Obama, and suspects that he wont win the election if there is a sensible republican running for president. He also knows that with his money and reputation, the republicans won't put up any strong opposition, as raising the money to run against trump will cut into funds that can then be used against Obama. Ultimately he is diluting the candidate pool, by scaring any real opposition away, and all he needs to do is now act crazy enough to get endorsed by all the parties involved in the republican political machine. Guy is a legend.

The Donald is just doing what Palin and Bachman have been doing.

Time will tell. The Republican establishment as represented by Carl Rove (AKA, george II's brain and as george II called him, "turd brain").

The Donald is just doing what Palin and Bachman have been doing.

And the left hates Palin and Bachmann. The difference, of course, is that Palin and Bachmann don't need to appeal to the half of the country that disagrees with their political views. Trump does.

Given how much trouble Trump's base has given President Obama about bowing, what are they going to think about Trump's preference for bowing rather than shaking hands?

I think it is more than just the left who dislikes Palin and Bachman.

GOP Needs to Repudiate Trump, For Its Own Good

The Donald: An Object Lesson in Presuming We're All Stupid

Though the numbers were collected before President Obama released his long-form birth certificate, the current reigning Birther-in-Chief, Donald Trump, edged two former Republican governors in a NewsMax poll released this week:

The survey of 883 voters conducted by InsiderAdvantage on Monday for NewsMax has the trio within the 3.2 percent margin of error. Nearly one-fourth of those responding haven’t made up their minds on any candidate so far, 19 months before the election.

Trump leads with 14.3 percent, with Huckabee pulling 14.1 and Romney at 13.5.

Early polls generally reflect name identification as much as preference since few people are willing to support a candidate they don’t know. Trump, a real-estate developer has benefited from regular television appearances, such as his “Apprentice” series. Huckabee and Romney, former governors of Arkansas and Massachusetts respectively, gained national recognition when they each ran for president four years ago. Huckabee also has been a fixture on the Fox cable network.

Two other Fox personalities, Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich, came next in the poll’s standing. Palin, a former Alaska governor who was the GOP vice presidential nominee two years ago, is the favorite of 11.8 percent. Gingrich, a former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia, drew 7.5 percent.

One might pause to wonder what role name recognition plays in Trump's success so far. A week ago it emerged that over half of Americans answering a Pew survey could not name a single Republican presidential contender.

One would hope it's about name recognition. Cynics, of course, will point out that Trump is the consummate Republican.

Exhibit A: Laying into President Obama, Trump explained to an audience of defense industry workers that, "China is raping this country."

And he would know.

Exhibit B:

Who's Raping the Country? A Donald J. Trump Signature Collection shirt, made in China.

Now, Trump has long complained about Chinese currency "manipulation" and has called for a large tariff on imports of products from China in order to bolster U.S. manufacturing. But he has also gone further, urging Americans to buy fewer products from China, claiming that Chinese goods are shoddy and maintaining that, in his own business dealings, he favors American manufacturing over Chinese manufacturing.

All of which makes it a little strange that Trump's own brand of clothing is made in China.

Just sayin' ... this is your Republican Party.

Self promoting using free publicity and very little effort, and that is good for his name recognition (big part of his business) and negotiating a new deal for his TV show.

Any other questions???

I think you have it. :)

American Capitalism

We simply have to remember that, more than Democrat or Republican, Donald Trump is an American capitalist.

American capitalist.

American capitalist.

I was never a good mathematician, but the calculus on this one° is pretty simple.
