That fundamental way is mathematical in essence. which is a logical conclusion based on the evidence.

In Eukaryotic organisms it is the network which is the basis for true intelligence in biological organisms. Microtubules are nano scale computers, trillions of them. That's how bacteria can perform "quorum sensing". A chemical mathematical counting ability, before becoming virulent. Fits right in with a fundamental mathematical universe.
I did in an earlier post, did you miss it? Except it isn't "quorum sending", it is "quorum sensing".
How can you judge the logic of a proposition if you don't read accurately what is being proposed?
Of course everything relates to this . Tegmark believes his hypothesis is the beginning of a TOE.
A Theory Of Everything should be applicable to Everything!
Woo or not, that's what he proposes. I can see the logic in the proposition. I have gone out on a limb and try to be as thorough as I am able in my understanding of what Tegmark is proposing and try to tie the implications to various other parts of natural phenomena, i.e. inherent mathematical pattern forming abilities.
But apparently it is beginning to upset a few people so I'll rest my pen and let others come up with a different controversial scientific hypothesis . I'd love to be on the critiquing side for a change.
All I can hope for is that I have stirred some interest and curiosity in a few minds. I'm done......

I think it's cool that quarks learnt to make other particles in a much shorter time.

However, the ability to conceptualize, discriminate, and represent varying quantities in animals (other than humans) is fairly common--mammals, birds, fish, etc. Don't know about insects. Typically the term "numerosity" (which I aways get a kick out of 'cuz it's close to "numinosity") is used wherein the ability is present without precision. There's a really fascinating study done with dingoes, but I can't locate it at the moment, so... yeah... sorry. Anyways, were the cats who do "studies" of these sorts more conversant with zoosemioticians I'm sure there'd be even more exciting work being done.
