But she wasnt even attacking. She attempted to break up her friend and the cop who was beating her
It is an unfortunate situation, yes, but I can't say that the video showed the police officer using any kind of excessive force with the first girl...in fact, he could have used alot more force to subdue her, but didn't...when the second girl came at him, I think that's when he simply reacted, probably out of anger, fear, and frustration...not that it was right.
You have to realize that police officers have a dangerous job and they never know what could happen...this police officer was surrounded by people, yelling and bitching, not to mention that it has to be pretty difficult to concentrate with everyone running around with their cell phone cameras hoping to be the one who catches the next Rodney King. There is alot of pressure.
That still kind of constitutes attacking. In the eyes of the law, the officer isn't a second party, but the party of legal enforcement. Don't know what went on before the vid, though; important, I'd say.
