Ticketed for Kissing

You think after the first few times the river caught fire they would have done something about it, but they didn't.

It took a while, but they did finally pass regulations to clean up our waterways a bit.

Just like you'd think California would put more money into putting out wildfires since they happen every single year at the same time. But apparently people don't learn very quickly.

That problem is way more complex.

The fire loving non indiginous species have replaced the original more fire retardent species. Because they have evolved to survive burning, they are almost impossible to displace under the current situation. When you add in people building in the midst of a tinder box, the real answer is the same as people building on river bottoms, build in the brush, burn in the brush.

If there weren't any people there you could do controlled burns early in the year when there is enough moister to keep it from going berserk. But the only long term solution is to change the climate, which it is by getting worse unfortunately, or introduce hardier less flamable species, good luck finding them though.

Anything else is at best a band aid. And a really, really, really expensive band aid that only benefits a few who aren't carrying the cost.
