I accidently run into this guy's bio, it is sure an interesting read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Panzram

Just a short quote:

"In my lifetime I have murdered 21 human beings, I have committed thousands of burglaries, robberies, larcenies, arsons and last but not least I have committed sodomy on more than 1,000 male human beings. For all these things I am not in the least bit sorry." —Carl Panzram

In light of his extensive criminal record, he was handed a 25-year sentence which was to be served at Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary. "I'll kill the first man that bothers me," Panzram told the warden; on June 20, 1929 he killed Robert Warnke, foreman of the prison laundry in Leavenworth, battering him to death with an iron bar. Panzram was sentenced to death. He refused to appeal, even threatening to kill human rights groups that attempted to appeal on his behalf."

He was an excellent example for the capital punishment, at least one death could have been prevented by executing him earlier.

best quote:

"When asked by the executioner if he had any last words, Panzram barked, "Hurry it up, you Hoosier bastard! I could kill 10 men while you're fooling around!""

P.S.: Anyway, the point what I was trying to make: When a person sentenced to life in prison, can you guarantee he never kills again? Of course not...

Sounds like a retarded sociopath to me.

They could always opt for him to be contained solely with other murderers/rapists.

..and murderers/rapists don't deserve protection? So we gonna keep these type of dudes in a Hannibal-like protection dress for the rest of their lifes?

No, I was merely theorizing on what they could do with them if capital punishment wasn't an option.
Seems to me they could better put murders and rapists at risk of being killed than the 'lesser criminals'.

I read Panzram's autobiography, what an amazing (and criminal) life. They made a movie about him, but it wasn't very good. Fish was another breed entirely, a complete psycho, but Panzram strikes me as just a greedy, angry man with not an ounce of compassion.

I've actually been planning on writing a book about Henry Lee Lucas for a couple of years now. But first I need to accumulate the funds to go and visit the area where he grew up and some of the other places he frequented. He was also very interesting.

Isn't there a book about him already?

Oh, what the fuck!:

On June 26, 1998, then governor of Texas, George W. Bush commuted his death sentence to life without the possibility of parole. The true number of murders he committed is still unknown.

Should not there be a brain implant that could normalize the brain yet? On the other hand, we now have over 6 billion people. These weeds need to be removed from the society to make room for more weeds....
