Argument from 'There must be more'..

(1) [insert name] has untreatable cancer
(2) [insert name] is going to die
(3) They can't just rot in the ground, it's not fair
(4) There must be something more
(5) Therefore god exists, as does a land of sparkling gold and riches where there are no bad naughty people and we never have to worry about anything ever again, amen.

When plants and animals die, they become food for decomposers like bacteria, fungi and earthworms. Decomposers or saprotrophs recycle dead plants and animals into chemical nutrients like carbon and nitrogen that are released back into the soil, air and water.
