The second commandment & the Pope.

Catholicism and Protestantism differ on a number of points, the main ones being:

1. Transubstantiation: converting the bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ – an article of faith to Catholics
2. Salvation: faith and works for Catholics vs. faith alone for Protestants
3. Celibacy of the clergy
4. Praying to Mary and the Saints for intercession with God – Protestants believe that praying to God is sufficient

Since both Catholicism and Protestantism are concerned with saving souls, extremists in both religions are constantly attacking each other on these points out of a concern that an incorrect interpretation of the Bible will result in eternal damnation. But IMO its all a waste of time since the Bible has too many flaws to be taken seriously.
